🌌 Light, Structure & Atmosphere
My light art installations explore the poetic potential of light in dialogue with architecture, movement, and time. Worldwide projects since 1996.
Each project transforms its environment into a living, painterly composition – blending video mapping, abstract color fields, and spatial rhythm. Whether on a cathedral, a water surface, or an urban square, light becomes a language of emotion, presence, and transformation.
These works reflect my ongoing exploration of space and perception – between analog painting and digital projection.
🔦 From site-specific interventions to immersive installations – here are impressions from recent projects around the globe.

✨ Light Becomes Space – Painting in Motion
A selection of my light art projects from recent years: immersive installations that transform urban architecture into fleeting, visual compositions.
Whether projected onto historic facades, modern structures, or public spaces – I use light as a painterly medium to create temporary spaces that explore the relationship between architecture, time, and movement. Each image reflects a site-specific dialogue with space, structure, and atmosphere.
Since 1996, I’ve realized light installations around the world – from Berlin, Pune, Dakar, Osaka, Rome and Cologne to Rio de Janeiro and Bangkok.

Painting on Canvas
Untitled 2024
160 Ă— 120 cm
Recently shown at Monopol Berlin.
This work continues my exploration of fluid structures, layered transparencies and painterly movement between control and dissolution.
The composition unfolds like an unstable landscape — somewhere between organic growth, underwater formations and drifting light phenomena.
Pigments bleed into each other, creating soft transitions and energetic ruptures at the same time. The painting moves between delicacy and intensity, balancing luminous color fields with darker gestural traces and sediment-like textures.
For me, these works are less about fixed imagery and more about states of transformation, atmosphere and perception.

CrossOverBAM — Gamesymphonic with EĂmear Noone
Bamberg · 05 May 2026
An immersive audiovisual journey with the Bamberger Symphoniker and EĂmear Noone.
For this concert, I expanded my live visual installation across the walls, ceiling and entire concert hall — transforming the Joseph-Keilberth-Saal into a dynamic space of light, projection and orchestral sound.
Music from Halo, World of Warcraft, Civilization, Dragon Age, Fortnite and more unfolded through evolving visual layers, abstract image spaces and large-scale projection structures.
A powerful evening where music, architecture, light and audience merged into one shared experience.
Thank you to everyone involved in this extraordinary production.

CrossOverBAM — Gamesymphonic with EĂmear Noone
05 May 2026 — Konzerthalle Bamberg
A powerful and immersive evening in Bamberg.
It was a great pleasure to collaborate once again with the Bamberger Symphoniker and EĂmear Noone for another edition of CrossOverBAM: Gamesymphonic.
This time, I was able to expand my live visual installation beyond the stage into the walls, ceiling and the entire concert hall — transforming the Joseph-Keilberth-Saal into an immersive audiovisual environment.
The fusion of symphonic game music and large-scale visual structures created an intense spatial experience where music, light, architecture and audience became deeply interconnected.
Music from Halo, World of Warcraft, Fortnite, Civilization, Dragon Age and many more opened vast emotional and cinematic spaces, interpreted through abstract projection structures, moving image layers and evolving light compositions.
Working with EĂmear Noone continues to be one of the most inspiring artistic collaborations within my practice.
After projects in ReykjavĂk, Dublin, Bergen, Bamberg, San Francisco, Newcastle, Nashville and Catania, returning to Bamberg once again was truly special.
A heartfelt thank you to:
EĂmear Noone, the Bamberger Symphoniker, Universitätschor Bamberg, Carly Smithson and everyone involved in this extraordinary production.

Painting on Paper
Untitled 2025
60 Ă— 42 cm
A field of drifting color, dissolving edges, and luminous transitions.
This work expands the ongoing Paintings on Paper series into a more atmospheric and organic direction — somewhere between microscopic structures, faded memories, and floating landscapes of light.
Built through layers of acrylic pigments, water, and controlled chance, the image remains open, unstable, and constantly shifting in perception.

Farbapparat 2 — Recap
Monopol Berlin
Three intense days at Monopol Berlin.
A vibrant group exhibition with a strong flow of visitors, meaningful conversations, and a dynamic exchange between artworks, space, and audience.
I presented a selection of recent works —
paintings on canvas and paper, alongside a light / video installation extending the spatial experience and translating painterly structures into movement.
The dialogue between analog painting and projection created a distinct tension within the industrial architecture of the former distillery.
The space itself becomes part of the work — raw, open, layered.
Many thanks to everyone who visited and engaged in conversation.
And to the artists of the exhibition:
Christine Buchwald
Philipp Geist
Johanna Keimeyer
Oliver Lanz
Katharina Trudzinski
Bernd Wolf
→ second edition of Farbapparat — certainly not the last.
