I’ve been really focused on my magazine, and I recently had the opportunity to direct a campaign for @victordesouzany for @etcetera_journal I’m excited to share the campaign with you all in this post! One day, my agent Carole reached out to me about a bunch of boxes filled with tear sheets of my work. (If you know, you know.) She asked where I’d like them sent, and at first, I thought it might be best to just throw them away. But then, I changed my mind. Back in 2018, I started experimenting with collages using only the editorials where I had done the makeup, along with some pieces from my body paint series. After keeping those collages to myself for a while, I finally decided to share a few at a group show at @warburtongalerie in 2020.
To my surprise, I found about 15 unfinished collages that I had set aside, which inspired me to finish them. Unfortunately, from all the collages I created back then, I only have three left. This morning, I woke up early, grabbed my glue, and started piecing them together again.
It’s all about making the most of what I have.
