We're looking for artists to paint 12 new traffic signal boxes across Hobart this summer (2025/26). This is a fantastic opportunity to transform a piece of public space into a vibrant work of art. The City of Hobart is commissioning 8 boxes for individual artists or small teams and 4 boxes for community groups. Each artist or group will receive a $500 fee per box. Last year's project was a huge success, and we can't wait to see what you create this year! Interested? Visit the link in our bio to learn more and apply. Applications to paint a new mural in Bidencopes Lane are now open. As part of our ongoing activities throughout Bidencopes Lane, Vibrance and the City of Hobart are calling for applications from Lutruwita/Tasmania based artists to create a new mural within Bidencopes Lane. This commission will replace one of the original murals which has deteriorated since being painted at the first Vibrance Festival in 2017. In future years we will continue to review some of the older murals we have commissioned in the laneway to assess their condition and whether they should be replaced. This opportunity is available to artists residing in Lutruwita/Tasmania, artists who have spent significant time here (at least two years) or have significant connection to the region. Artists from diverse backgrounds, styles and who have previously made use of the Bidencopes Lane Permission Wall are especially encouraged to apply. Applications close midnight Wednesday 5th March, 2025. To read more about this opportunity and submit your application please visit the Vibrance website. Link in bio.
