@tampabaytimes In unveiling the highly awaited retro jerseys they’ll brandish for the first time in more than a decade, the Bucs took elaborate measures to capture the creamsicle essence.
Today’s formal rollout of the franchise’s refurbished original jerseys — first christened with the Bucs’ birth in the disco era — was highlighted by a three-minute video replete with bell bottoms, strobe lights, plenty of Lee Roy Selmon images, and a few iconic Bucs born in the 1970s.
The video — with narration by Pro Football Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks — was filmed at Goodnight John Boy, a 1970s-themed bar in downtown St. Petersburg.
Brooks is joined by Ronde Barber, Mike Alstott and current players Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antoine Winfield Jr. and Lavonte David. Comedian Bert Kreischer and make-up entrepreneur Jaclyn Hill also make cameos.
