We’ve finished the first week of rehearsals here at @eugene_opera and I am LOVING this new role. If you can believe it, this new aria for me too, and singing it is a dream. After performing literally 32 consecutive role debuts, both large and very very small, I am so delighted to finally return to a beloved role and perform her for the second time. Sœur Constance is a treasure, and singing her almost a decade ago in school (!) taught me so much about my voice. It also made me aware of how much more I could grow. To come back to this role in my favorite opera and this time be able to make all the colorful choices I dreamed of as a student… it’s amazing. I can’t wait to start rehearsals with @neworleansopera next week- thank you to @mdoperastudio for introducing me to Miss Connie and this stunning piece. ❤️
