Lucy Bronze, Mariona Caldentey, Chiamaka Nnadozie and Wieke Kaptein star in ‘Nothing Off The Table’, a no holds barred conversation platforming the life stories of some of the world’s best players like never before. Breaking free from the usual club lines and media settings that shape how players interact, VERSUS and Nike created a rare environment where global stars can come together, connect across club colours, and express themselves openly. All four players joined VERSUS editor-in-chief Amie Cripps for a first-of-its-kind conversation about what it takes to be the very best. It’s about who these players really are, what they really think, and how they really see the game today. Watch ‘Nothing Off The Table’ in full via our link in bio.

Chloe Kelly is unbreakable. The Arsenal and England baller experienced one of the darkest moments in her career earlier this year when she was left sidelined by Manchester City. Without a club to play for, and just months before the Euros, she considered taking a break from football. Even contemplating a permanent one. “There was so much noise — so many opinions, and no one really knew the truth, and they still don’t, not really” she explains when asked about that period. “When I posted ‘that’ statement, I felt relieved. It was the first time in a long time I felt in control again.” If that time showed the world anything, it’s that Chole Kelly is built different. And to say she’s reclaimed her joy since would be an understatement. She’s back playing the type of football we all expect from her: expressive and audacious with a healthy amount of shithousery. But for the 27-year-old West Londoner, there’s more to her game than the sport itself. Her status as a cultural icon has been well and truly cemented. Appearing in Nike x Corteiz campaigns alongside Edgar Davids? Check. Linking up with fellow West London native and childhood friend Ellis Gilbert for Talk Nice Studios? Check. Dropping the cleanest Touchline Drip fits as a Baller League manager? Check. CK isn’t a purveyor of the culture, she embodies it. And she’s about to represent once again on the biggest stage this summer. VERSUS sat down with Chloe Kelly to talk about why her move to Arsenal was the best decision she could make, relishing the opportunity to support young Lionesses like Michelle Agyemang at the Euros, her unparalleled love for West, and most importantly, remaining true to herself in times of adversity. — Chloe Kelly wears Nike, Burberry, Prada and more for VERSUS.

Pep Guardiola makes his own rules. The law states you wear a suit to a cup final. The GOAT of putting that sh*t on turned up in a turtleneck and tweed bottoms. You should have known what type of time he was on when he stepped to the touchline. Not talking about tea when we saying managers need to be taking PG tips.

Manchester City are FA Cup champions. After two years of finishing as runners up, the Cityzens are back running up the score. Beat Chelsea 1-0 in the final to bring more silverware to Citeh’s golden age. Secured a cup double that’s got hatewatchers double cup leaning. Pep joked that he needs his own stand at Wembley. Now The Admin is on their feet applauding. Make that 20 trophies in 10 years under his stewardship. Haters really thought the Sky Blues would rock up to a final under blue skies and not continue their reign. 24 trips to Wembley under Guardiola with 15 wins. Drizzy is known for his timestamps, but Pep is about to drop 5pm in Wembley Way. Semenyo played his first FA Cup game against Met Police FC back in 2018, so it’s only right he crashed it on the boys in blue. Cooked up a backheel finish so tasty, it hit the spot like some nkate cake. The perfect Book End to the final. Even when casuals said City were washed, this team still found a way to clean up.

Samantha May Kerr. Thank you for everything. This is how you light up the pitch and leave on a high note. Played her final game for Chelsea and became the club’s joint-record goalscorer. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. Five-time league winner, three-time League Cup lifter. Community Shield yielder. Two-time Golden boot earner. WSL Player of the Season receiver. This is the definition of greatness. Backflipped for her celebration and constantly had fans head over heels at her ability. Suffered an ACL injury, but showed what true strength looked like after over 600 days out and returned like it was nothing. Even Allardyce is toasting to Big Sam. This is footballing royalty. The queen of Kingsmeadow. The shining light of Stamford Bridge. SK always raised the levels. When she joined in 2019, she landed already a hero. But now she leaves as one of the greatest ever to lace up a pair of boots. This one is bigger than football. A role model to many and a true representation of all. You will be missed, Sam.

Khadija Bunny Shaw. Your legacy will be celebrated for generations. This shooter just completed a three-peat of Golden Boots while firing Manchester City back to the top of the WSL. The levels are different. No other player has ever reached these heights before. Ended her season with 21 goals and four assists from 22 appearances. Make that 83 goals in 92 games since joining Citeh in 2021. The last time you saw a Jamaican rocking PUMA and causing Havoc like this, Usain was still bolting past his opposition. Let it be known that Likkle but Tallawah is a lifestyle for this baller. Every defender that’s tried to face her has been rolled up like a dumpling. Not talking about your local Jerk shop when we say the beat of her own drum is feeding the streets. A true magician at work, and best believe Bunny knows a thing or two about hat tricks. Whether she continues her reign in Manchester is unknown. But to anyone unfamiliar, she is the queen of the WSL right now. Hail up a great when you see one.

Manchester City have finally restored the feeling. WSL champions for the first time in a decade. From being invincible ten years ago, to being the unstoppables today. Many contested but none could compete. The Gunners tried to shoot them down but drew blanks. The Red Devils failed to raise hell. Chelsea were left to feel blue in the face. The streets said this would be a season of transition and this side responded with the coldest counter. Bunny Shaw hopped over her own legacy to show why she’s the GOAT. Miedema stayed true to her jersey number and put up 10s across the board. Kerolin put the ‘super’ in WSL by bringing joga bonito to the Joie Stadium. Kerstin Casparij was dishing out dimes like a community jeweller while being the diamond in City’s crown. All with Andree Jeglertz winning a league in his first campaign and becoming only the third manager to do so. If you thought Oasis going on tour was the biggest comeback in Manchester this year, think again. This team’s trophy cabinet is looking like a Wonderwall.

Celtic just broke Hearts. In a battle between the dynasty and the disruptors, order has been restored. The Hoops won the Scottish Premiership title on the final day and had the Jam Tarts crumbling before tea time. Champions for the fifth season in a row. The odds might’ve been in Hearts’ favour this season, but real ones know the house always wins. Let us paint the picture. Celtic were five points off top spot after 31 games. But won their remaining seven matches to clinch their 56th title. One more than old firm rivals Rangers. They say ‘every dog has its day’, but Celtic made sure these underdogs weren’t retrieving anything gold. With Martin O’Neill tracksuited up in the dugout, you should’ve known a Hearts win was never on the cards. Haters will say the scriptwriters need new material. But ball-knowers understand Celtic are cut from a different cloth. The Bhoys will always be buoyant.

Channel 4 has won the rights to broadcast the 2025/26 CAF Champions League final. The two-leg fixture between South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Morocco’s AS FAR is to air live on Channel 4 streaming and Channel 4’s YouTube on May 17 and May 24. The Sundowns are chasing their second Champions League crown since 2016, whilst AS FAR will be looking to end a 41-year wait for the trophy, having last claimed it in 1985. This deal follows on from the broadcaster securing the rights to last year’s AFCON, which marked the first time all of the tournament was available to watch for free in the UK. Salute to Channel 4 for increasing access for as many people in the UK to watch Africa’s greatest club tournament.
