A 400-page hardcover book. A Versus phone hotline with a vintage answering machine. Tons of messages from across the world. And one continued mission, to do things differently. Im beyond proud to share VERSUS new creative anthem "We Are Versus".
In a time when conversations around creativity, our industry, and its future feel uncertain, we set out to create something that would remind us why we do this. Over the last six months, we’ve been building an internal project that captures the VERSUS ethos, one that focuses as much on the community and the people as it does on the creative and the work itself.
“WE ARE VERSUS” is a dual release of a book and companion film that together stand as both a creative anthem and a tribute to the community that defines the studio. A celebration of creativity, connection, and the people who make this industry what it is. Huge thank you to all who have contributed.
We’re honored to be nominated for a Webby Award in the category of inclusion for “Reframing Mentorship”, but this moment is bigger than us. It includes the collaboration of our good friends @sixdegreesofkb and @versus.creative.studio

STUDIO STORIES: VERSUS, The Studio That Refused to Become “Good Enough”
This is the first STUDIO STORIES written entirely from an in-person visit.
I spent hours inside the VERSUS studio in New York, recording conversations with seven people across every level of the company.
And what I walked away with wasn’t a profile of a studio.
It was a thesis.
What happens when a creative company decides the people matter as much as the pixels?
VERSUS didn’t build a brand, they built a standard.
Not “good enough.” Not fast for the sake of fast. Not loud for the sake of loud.
Human. Intentional. Excellent.
A burner phone origin story, a triangle leadership model that sharpens ideas before they reach clients, producers in the trenches, operations as the culture’s immune system, hospitality as a creative strategy, and an AI philosophy that protects the source of the idea, not just the output.
In an era obsessed with automation, they made a choir.
In an industry chasing “good enough,” they chose heavy, expensive, human.

New York City does the holidays like no other, and so does Versus.
This year, Versus dropped our 2025 custom holiday merch alongside a lookbook called “Christmas in New York,” a raw, gritty take on the season, set in the city we call home.
We shot live action on a greenscreen stage, then built fully custom worlds using a proprietary AI compositing workflow developed in house at Versus. From reindeer in Midtown to gnomes and snowmen on subway platforms, each scene puts the new Versus sweatsuit, beanie, gloves, and socks center stage.
Featuring the Versus team as the talent, the project lives as both a digital lookbook and a printed book included with the mailed merch box. A celebration of community, craft, and the belief that holiday work can still feel cultural, unexpected, and unmistakably Versus.
