ISSUE 334 HAS ARRIVED
This issue is built for the collectors… the artists… the obsessives… the people who still believe tattooing deserves depth, history, craftsmanship, and respect.
This one is heavy.
Dark surrealism. Black and grey mastery. Biomechanical brutality. International innovators. Tattoo history. Industry truth. Real culture. No filler. No recycled nonsense pretending to be tattoo journalism.
And leading the charge is Jeremiah Barba… one of the most respected names in modern dark biomechanical tattooing and a major force behind the upcoming Punk Rock Tattoo Expo in Las Vegas. His work feels less like tattoos and more like engineered nightmares carved directly into skin. This issue dives deep into the mind and process behind one of the strongest visual voices in tattooing today.
Inside Issue #334: • Jeremiah Barba • Raydems • Mikhail Suminov • Jamy Carlton • Kasim • Mariona Belchi • KaCee Lin • Nikki Alexis • Mike Skiver • 9th Realm Gallery • Ghosts of The Bowery by Memphis Mori • Rob Smead’s breakdown of the tattoo recession and where the industry is heading next
The world’s longest running tattoo magazine keeps moving forward…
Issue 334 is live.

AVAILABLE ORIGINAL DESIGN... ONE OF ONE.
This piece was designed for someone who carries both innocence and chaos in the same soul. It would make an incredible large-scale black and grey tattoo with room to push the atmosphere even further once it hits skin.
I don’t repeat original concepts like this once they’re claimed. When it’s gone... it’s gone forever.
Serious inquiries only. DM me if this strange little creature feels like it belongs to you.

I finished this piece up for one of my very dear friends, who like most of us, is currently navigating some horrible shit. As a tattoo artist I'm also a therapist sometimes. This piece is about being broken and trying to arrange the pieces so they make sense again. Some people break and stay shattered. Some people break and become something entirely different. This piece was built around that idea... the quiet war of rebuilding yourself after life tears through you. Every fractured section represents moments that changed us... trauma, loss, mistakes, heartbreak, survival. But even in pieces, there’s still beauty. Still strength. Still identity staring back through the cracks.
The butterflies felt important to me too... transformation living beside damage. Proof that healing doesn’t erase what happened. It evolves it.
We spend so much of our lives trying to hide the broken parts of ourselves when sometimes those are the exact things that make us human.
This one meant something deeper to create.
**I've got one opening that popped up next week. I'd love for someone to get in my chair. Let me know your ideas!

Some artists follow trends. Some artists create the things the rest of the industry chases five years later.
That’s who we’re looking for.
Skin & Ink Magazine is officially opening submissions for upcoming 2026/2027 features and we want to see the artists who are pushing tattooing forward instead of repeating what already exists. Black and grey… color realism… surrealism… biomech… neo traditional… illustrative… experimental… we don’t care about fitting inside a box. We care about vision. We care about identity. We care about work that actually makes people stop scrolling.
For over 30 years Skin & Ink has documented the evolution of tattoo culture and spotlighted artists from around the world who are shaping the future of this industry. If your work deserves a larger stage… now’s your shot.
Follow, collab, and tag @skinandinkmag and @skinandinkstudios so our editorial team can see your work.
(Bonus points if you share this and help get the word out!)
Let’s find the next wave of tattoo history together.

Some traditions survive because they’re beautiful. Others survive because they carry teeth. I’ve always loved tribal and indigenous-inspired art because it reminds me that design can be both simple and unbelievably powerful at the same time. Bold shapes. Strong flow. Symbolism carved down to its purest form. The world pushes people to blend in every single day. Art fights back against that. Tattoos become flags for the parts of ourselves we refuse to let disappear. Ancient energy with a modern twist. The kind of piece that feels like it was pulled out of folklore and dropped straight into reality. If you’d like to collect something bold, strange, meaningful, or completely outside the box… I’d love to create it with you. More of my work and appointment requests: scottversago.com

Some days overcoming doesn’t look heroic. Sometimes it looks like dragging yourself out of bed, answering the text, going to work, taking care of your family, or simply refusing to become cold in a world trying desperately to harden you.
The world is heavy right now. People are exhausted in ways they don’t even know how to explain anymore. Choosing kindness when bitterness would be easier is strength. Choosing to keep going when life keeps swinging at your jaw is strength.
Storms eventually run out of rain.
Some people bloom in chaos. Quietly. Patiently. Beneath dark water and heavy weather… still choosing softness in a world that teaches hardness. That’s what I love about the lotus. It doesn’t deny the mud it came from. It transforms it. 🌸
Growth is strange like that. Sometimes healing doesn’t look loud or victorious. Sometimes it looks like surviving long enough to become something beautiful anyway.
