We often reserve grief for death. We have rituals and funerals for it—a collective understanding that “this will be hard.” But what about the silent grief? The kind that happens when someone is still on this earth, but no longer walking beside you? Grief isn’t just defined by death—it’s defined by loss. You might be grieving: The version of the person you once trusted. The future you had vividly imagined together. The version of yourself that existed in that connection. The safety of a routine that now feels like a desert. If you stepped away to protect your peace but still feel a heavy ache: you are not overreacting. Missing someone you chose to leave isn’t weakness; it’s a reflection of how deeply you cared. Thank you to Nora Amar for these words. Read the full article on our blog (link in bio) 🔗 You don’t have to carry this weight alone. If you need a judgment-free space to talk, Vent Over Tea is here. Book a session at the link in bio. Connection is more than just a conversation—it’s preventative mental healthcare. ✹ This Mental Health Week, we’re highlighting the vital role of community care in Quebec. With waitlists for traditional services often stretching from 6 to 24 months, many Quebecers are left navigating their mental health journey alone. We believe you shouldn’t have to reach a “tipping point” to be heard. Statistics show that a strong sense of community belonging makes us 61% more likely to report excellent mental health. Community organizations are the frontline of prevention, acting as a “pressure valve” to break isolation and build resilience before a challenge becomes a crisis. But for this safety net to hold, we need to value and invest in the community spaces that keep us connected. How to find support today: - Book a free active listening session and connect with an empathetic listener. - Consult our Resource Directory to find a curated list of mental health services in Quebec Both can be found at the link in bio 🔗 No matter where you are, you shouldn’t have to wait to feel lighter. We’re here to listen. #MentalHealthWeek #ComeTogetherCanada

In the spirit of Mental Health Week’s “Come Together” theme, Vent Over Tea is hosting three gatherings, a morning cafĂ© centering those doing care-centered and community-rooted work, a meditative journaling workshop, and a spring photo walk, each nurturing connection, reflection, and shared care. Through these offerings, we’re creating space to slow down, be in community, and strengthen the relationships that support our mental wellbeing. We’d love to see you throughout the week: ✩ Tuesday, May 5 (10am-12pm): Community Care CafĂ© ✩ Wednesday, May 6 (6-8pm): Connections Through Writing: A Meditative Journalling Workshop ✩ Sunday, May 10 (11am-1pm): In Bloom: A Spring Photo Walk __ Through Writing, a meditative journaling workshop to explore the connection between mindfulness and creative expression. During this workshop, we will learn how writing can be a surprising tool for introspection, as well as an accessible skill to cope with stress. Through gentle prompts, guided meditations, and periods of free writing, participants are encouraged to let go of perfection and simply observe what arises on the page. No prior writing experience is needed. Together, we will cultivate a practice of writing that is less about crafting and more about listening to thoughts and to feelings. Join us: đŸ—“ïž Wednesday May 6 2026 🕕 6:00 - 8:00pm 📍Virtual (Link will be sent to you by email!) ✍Bring something you would feel comfortable to write with, pen, notebook, computer, and maybe even a nice cup of tea đŸŽŸïž This event is free! RSVP now (link in bio) Although led primarily in English, this event is open to French speakers as well as our facilitator is bilingual. __ About your facilitator 📝 Nikita Chigoho (she/they/elle) is a writer & community organizer born and raised in MontrĂ©al. Her experience in the arts and non profit sector inspires her to give back to the BIPOC and Queer communities by facilitating and creating inclusive spaces to foster wellness and community through writing. She currently runs the Blackout Productions’ writers circle and has been published in the Pit Periodical. She mainly writes poetry and non-fiction. #VentOverTea #MentalHealthWeek
