PLEASE READ
It is with great sadness that we’d like to inform you that we decided to cancel all our upcoming performances for 2022.
During my pregnancy I have made plans to make festivals and shows possible for Venom Prison. I have now realised that I was being too ambitious and was putting too much pressure on myself to make things happen while navigating motherhood for the very first time.
Ash, Ben, Mike and Joe have worked really hard to return back on stage while trying to accommodate my situation. And I am very grateful for their support and understanding. We really tried but my son and family need me full time at the moment.
We are going to focus on the creative side of things for now before we can start playing shows again. This means we have more new material on the horizon and other positives to focus on - Larissa
Nemesis:
Ever since I started writing lyrics for this song, this was the vision in my head and I wanted to evoke the emotions of aggression, determination, pain, satisfaction and catharsis - Watch more to find out more about Nemesis.

Behind The Scenes of Judges Of The Underworld
This song deals with the repeated cycle of violence throughout multiple generations of the most vulnerable in our society.
Violence has followed incarcerated men and women over a lifetime, people often coming from homes that were unsafe. Experiencing and witnessing abuse as children.
The social facts of violence sit uneasily with the individualised culpability decided by the criminal justice system. The violence addressed by the courts and prisons is largely stripped of social context and biography. Life histories rooted in poverty and rich in experiences of victimisation as well as offending defy the moral reckoning that splits the world into victims and perpetrators. Mass incarceration embodies a simplistic choice.
It was important for us to visualise this feeling of isolation, anxiety and repeated violence in the music video for ’Judges Of The Underworld’ and the idea was to show an individual that is stripped down to their basic needs and instincts. Consumed by their helplessness to navigate in an everyday situation, feeling isolated within themselves whilst going under in a sea of people that face similar conditions.

As you have probably figured by now our music and our artwork are intertwined to fit the concept of the album. When you see a piece of artwork for an album does it connect with you instantly? Do you feel when listening to an album, does the music build an imagination in your head? This is always something we are conscious of and our relationship with @elirankantor and albums we have done together has built a connection between music and art. With Eliran having access to lyrics or pre-production allows him to visualise how we are feeling or what we are trying to portray through our music. Taking a passage from the lyrics captures a moment that takes the whole concept and ties into one overall moment. Animus was the first album artwork we worked with Eliran, the anger was captured from lyrics and instrumentation, pre production demos or anything that would show Eliran the feelings put into Venom Prison. Our follow up Samsara had themes of a brutal reality of a rebirth cycle which was used to influence the art. Erebos followed the same footsteps creating something so harrowing, yet compassionate. An album will always be a full package from music to lyrics to art and the whole aesthetic. It’s so important for us to get that correct and it is always fun exploring your thoughts and reactions to these pieces when seen for the very first time. How does it make you feel? What other record covers have a similar impact on you?
You Asked, You Got It, Finally “Officer Down” On All Digital Platforms!
VENOM PRISON comments: “Stampin’ Ground is a band we’ve respected and admired even before VENOM PRISON existed and we’ve always toyed with the idea of a cover and never knew what would work with VENOM PRISON. We would listen to “Carved From Empty Words” in the van going to shows or on tour. With Stampin’ Ground being a metal/hardcore band this went perfectly in line with VENOM PRISON. We also recorded ‘Erebos’ with Scott Atkins who was a member of Stampin’ Ground and knew from the start Scott would understand us as a band. Our cover goes in line with the original with a slight few changes to make it our own. Enjoy, VENOM PRISON”
Scott Atkins (formerly guitars in Stampin’ Ground) adds: "’Officer Down’ took on a life of its own from the very first time we played it live. It became our biggest song overnight and it’s amazing it’s still seen that way over 20 years later. it was one of those songs that almost wrote itself, like it was meant to be, it stood the test of time. It’s been covered by many bands but this version by VENOM PRISON is definitely one of my personal favourites. Having produced their latest album, ‘Erebos', I’ve gotten to know the band very well. It was surprising how their work ethic and influences tied in with those of Stampin’ Ground in many ways. I hope everyone enjoys this new version as much as our original!”

After releasing it solely as a video clip on their YouTube channel VENOM PRISON are making their blistering cover of Stampin’ Ground’s “Officer Down” available on all digital platforms. The song has finally come full circle, as Century Media Records had released the original of the Stampin’ Ground’s classic album “Carved From Empty Words” in 2000.
