I didn’t feel that I had any business organizing a Proper Reading, so I asked delicious
@tjtarajo &
@smariaxoxo if they would frame the night on either end with Music. There are never enough words, so I asked
@u_make_me_delirious to frame the framing by Saying Grace before and after — fittingly, they were also the guardian angel & documentarian of the whole night even tho I failed to document us driving around, cooking, and hauling slabs of marble (non-fictional narrative representation retrievable on their website.)
Grateful to cook and eat food — I would like to cook for You, and Everyone, soon. It is increasingly wild to be Allowed to Cook and to Eat, granted endless [ ]. 🙏🏻.
The menu was:
pinto beans in a pawpaw vinegar beurre blanc sauce w/ muscat de Alexandria &
@channingdaughters Chardonnay ; rigatoni w/ dried candy cap mushrooms, blood orange infused olive oil, raw butter,
@soschefs powdered hickory smoke, various smoked salts, mezcal worms, and shaved belper knolle ; sourdough i soaked in old wine & baked with cultured butter ; little plates of barnacles in oil & brine ; many forms of tofu cooked with preserved lemon, paprika, young peppercorns, oregano & thyme ; fig leaf & lemon balm roasted eggplant in a sauce of goat milk, thyme infused olive oil, black salt, and dried krill ; piles of limes stuffed with frankincense resin & confit’d in a solution of various sugars, honey, maple, more frankincense, blackened lime powder, hoja Santa, & kefir lime leaves……..the fossils were cool but the taste of the liquid was a revelation…I’m making some amaro with it now…..; all recipes pulled From The Pocket Of Agent Dickinson (
