Meet the Venice Interns! Jood Aljneibi ( @joodj00 ) is a culture enthusiast who spends her days working in culture and events management, bringing people together through meaningful experiences. In her downtime, she’s usually recharging, reflecting, or exploring new creative ideas. She’s drawn to thoughtful planning, intentional living, and the small details about everyday life. Aya Alkhatib ( @aya_alkhatib20 ) a Palestinian architect and multidisciplinary designer born and raised in Abu Dhabi, UAE. She spent her month in Venice as an intern during the International Architecture Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia with the UAE National Pavilion. Her work spans architectural research, product design, and visual storytelling. Her practice explores material research, cultural memory and preservation, drawing from the intersection of her Palestinian heritage and Emirati upbringing to examine how design can translate cultural narratives into contemporary objects and spaces. Her work has been exhibited at NOMAD Abu Dhabi 2025 and at Dubai Design Week 2025. Aya is currently part of the 13th edition of Tashkeel Tanween, and a recipient of the Modern Heritage Research Grant led by the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth in collaboration with Zayed University. #LaBiennalediVenezia #UAEinVenice #veniceinterns #venicealumni

Meet the Venice Interns! Jawaher Alkhajah (@jawaheralkhajah ) is an Emirati engineer and artist dedicated to interlinking her technical knowledge and creative skills to grow as an artist. She earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the American University of Sharjah and is currently working as an engineer in project management for a real-estate developer.  As an artist motivated by diverse mediums, she is focusing on enhancing and refining her oil painting, pottery, and photography. Meet the Venice Interns! Eleonora Casoni (@ele.casoni ) is a Master’s student in Visual Arts at IUAV University in Venice. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Heritage from the University of Florence, her hometown. During her studies, she spent a semester in Paris as an Erasmus student, where she broadened her cultural perspectives and developed a deep appreciation for the city's art and architecture, which significantly influenced her academic path.  Eleonora is passionate about intercultural exchange and believes in the importance of fostering connections across different cultural contexts. Meet the Venice Interns! Shikha Sasheendran ( @shi.kha._ )is an Abu Dhabi–based researcher, experience designer, and artist whose practice explores human perception and behaviour through ethnography, curated exhibitions, and figurative art. Her practice employs mediums through an immersive approach. Recognising that human beings are shaped by emotion, she believes that thoughtfully directed exhibitions can shift perspective. In her exhibition Waste is Material at @tdvindia , she created sculpture, film, prints, to translate her research on material complexities in waste systems. She also contributed to design and research at Asateer for the House of Artisans Pavilion at the London Design Biennale. She currently works at @kossmanndejong as a content developer and designer. Drawn to the spontaneity of travel, the people she meets and the food she discovers, Shikha sketches, paints, and photographs people in their natural habitats. Meet the Venice Interns! Noor Hamdan (@noor.nidal ) is a Palestinian interdisciplinary architect and researcher based in Dubai. She holds an M.Arch from the University of Toronto and a B.Arch from the American University of Sharjah. Her work explores memory, materiality, and heritage through research, design, and making. Her research 'In Search of Palestine That is More Than Just a Memory' was exhibited at the London Architecture Festival. She also collaborated with ACP on UNESCO & UN-Habitat research focused on the restoration of historic Arab settlements, and later served as Senior Researcher and Design Build Coordinator for 'Pressure Cooker' by Azza Aboualam at the Venice Biennale (2025). Through practice, she has contributed to Dubai-based projects such as the MiZa Art District and MBR Endowment Health District. #LaBiennalediVenezia #UAEinVenice #veniceinterns #venicealumni
