💡 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF LIGHT 💡
May 16th is the International Day of Light.
And we couldn't let it pass in silence.
Light is the most powerful design tool there is, and one of the hardest to master.
At Venice Design Week, we dedicate an entire path to it, Light Selection, where designers and artists explore light in all its forms.
Mark your calendar for October. We'll show you what light can really do
🚨 JEWELRY SELECTION - EXTENDED DEADLINE 🚨
Good news for all the makers out there.
You asked for more time, we listened!
The Jewelry Selection deadline is now extended to June 11.
Venice Design Week is waiting for you.
Don't miss it
🎨 BIENNALE 2026
This year's theme is In Minor Keys, a musical metaphor inviting you to slow down, listen to the quieter, more intimate frequencies, and find beauty in melancholy.
But there's something even more powerful behind this edition.
Koyo Kouoh, the first African woman ever to curate the Biennale, never got to see her vision come to life. She passed away suddenly in May 2025. The Biennale chose to carry on, honoring every single one of her choices.
An exhibition about listening, built to honor a voice lost too soon.
Opens May 9th - until November 22nd.
Venice, as always, is the backdrop to something bigger
🌍 WORLD DESIGN WEEKS 🌍
Design is coming to Melbourne!
Melbourne Design Week starts May 14 in Australia's design capital, with the theme "Design the World You Want".
A call to action - 11 days, 400+ events across studios, galleries, gardens and public spaces, asking designers, thinkers and makers one essential question: what kind of world are we actually building?
And in its 10th edition, the answer feels more urgent than ever.
Because design isn't just about objects or spaces. It's about legacy, the cities we'll inhabit, the systems we'll inherit, the futures we'll leave behind.
From Venice to Melbourne, we are part of the same world! 🇦🇺
💡 THE DESIGN AND THE DESIGNER 💡
Discover the work of the designers who participated in Venice Design Week's Design Market 2025!
Today we introduce Laura Visentin, a contemporary jewelry designer born in Bassano del Grappa, whose creative path began far from the goldsmith's bench, through literature, art, and a deep curiosity for the world around her.
Her signature element is the spring: an industrial, technical object that she reimagines as a medium for artistic and decorative expression, weaving it together with silver to create distinctive, wearable pieces conceived for the contemporary woman.
Each jewel is an exploration of form and personality, shaped by inspiration that arrives unexpectedly, and transformed into objects that carry the essence of Italian craftsmanship and experimental design.

🌹 FEAST OF ST. MARK 🌹
The Saint’s relics arrived in 828, smuggled out of Egypt by two Venetian merchants who hid them under a load of pork to trick the Muslim guards. A masterstroke.
But the most beautiful tradition is another one: the bòcolo.
Every April 25th, Venetians gift their loved ones a red rose bud, symbol of a legendary love story that ended in tragedy, born in the days of the Serenissima.
History, romance and a city like no other.
✨ World Creativity and Innovation Day ✨
At Venice Design Week, we speak it every day, through the designers, the makers, the thinkers, and the places that dare to do things differently.
On this day, we celebrate everyone who turns an idea into something real.
Something that didn't exist before.
That's what design is. That's what we're here for.
Happy World Creativity and Innovation Day from Venice!
🌍 WORLD DESIGN WEEKS 🌍
This month we're shining a light on Indy Design Week, coming up April 20-25 in Indianapolis, with the theme "Field Guide".
A celebration of the work behind the work, the sketches, the wireframes, the blueprints.
The process that lives in studios, garages, kitchens and classrooms, long before the final result.
Because great design doesn't start at the finish line.
From Venice to Indianapolis, we design with curiosity and intention!
