I hope we do better with Wards Ferry, Regalado, Copper Valley and Watsonville in the next two months. Our CalCup races in August and September will be taking place as scheduled. (With the possible exception of University RR).
Update: Due to low registration, Velo Promo@has decided to cancel this race.
One of the best ways to support @velopromo , who has been the backbone of Northern California racing (and beyond), is to come on out a race your bike! Coming up this Saturday, April 25 in Williams, CA is one of the most unique road races. Leesville Gap Road Race was gravel racing before there was gravel racing! Along the 62 mile course, there are 3 gravel sections that can be ridden on a road bike! Race needs 100 riders to make this race possible. For so many of us, these races have been more than just events, they’ve been the backbone to growth in the sport. From first race nerves, standing on the Hammer podium with backdrops behind the, countless memories were made thanks to the dedication and passion of Robert and Velo Promo.
Hammer has been proud to support these events over the years—fueling riders, showing up with tents and banners, and standing alongside teams like Hammer SuperMasters, Team 53x11, Davis Phinney Foundation, Red Peloton, ThirstyBear, and so many more who’ve been part of this incredible community.
Now it’s our turn to give back.
Velo Promo is working to close out their legacy the right way—continuing races through 2026, supporting the NorCal racing community, and aiming to wrap things up without outstanding expenses. If you’ve ever pinned on a number at one of their events, cheered from the sidelines, or grabbed a sample of Hammer on race day, we encourage you to support.

Let’s help them go out on a high note 🙌
And in the meantime—show up, race hard, volunteer, and keep this community strong.
Thank you, Velo Promo, for 54 unforgettable years.

🚴🏼❄️ Message from @velopromo ❄️ 🚴🏼
The Copper Valley Circuit Race, scheduled for this Sunday the 22nd, has been postponed due to weather related low turnout (half of last year). While the weather day of should now be okay, our equipment and trailer and van are also buried in snow with more on the way. With low numbers, we cannot afford to do the race.
Our plan is to postpone the event to Sunday April 12, Sunday May 31, or Sunday June 14, none of which have conflicting road events. We are currently in contact with the Junior Series about which date would be best for them (as the race is a points event for Juniors). Once we set a date, riders for this Sunday will automatically be entered for that date, but those that can’t make it can request a credit for another VP race this year by emailing [email protected]. We can make other arrangements as well.
Why, you may ask, did we go ahead with a smaller turnout at Pine Flat? Because it was a two day affair with Cantua Creek, and riders may not have come that distance for one day at all.
Please contact your friends and teammates about the postponement. Spread the word via social media as well. I’ll be at the race site in Copperopolis all day Sunday to catch riders that miss this information.
