Another huge LMB radio show this week live on Phoenix FM 106.7 MHz from 2pm Saturday. The Deserters will chat with Angus and Brett before their gig at The Old Church on the Hill next Friday. Then the team will premiere the new Dog track which is set for release on Friday and maybe one of them will join the lads in the studio to tell us about it. And, as if that wasn’t enough, then Bendigo’s own Four Lions will drop in with instruments for the first time to the home of Bendigo live music. Shann, Keith and Dale will play a track from their upcoming 6th (Yep, #6) album before their return to the stage at Golden Vine Hotel Bendigo on Saturday night.

Well it’s been almost 12 years since Shann Lions ambled into a Djaara studio with a guitar slung over his shoulder and 10 cracking rock songs in his back pocket.
But when it came time to showcase these tunes, Lions needed a band.
Hence the first, nascent incarnation of Four Lions was born.
Fast-forward 10 action-packed years, and Bendigo’s finest celebrated their first decade.
That’s five studio albums and a handful of live ones; a couple of line-up reshuffles; and numerous gigs across the length and breadth of this great brown land that has inspired so many of Lions’ most memorable tunes.
Four Lions were the first independent, regionally-based band to feature as the Herald Sun’s Album of the Week (for Hard Days in 2019). They have also garnered rave reviews in Rhythms, Beat, Forte, and Bendigo Advertiser.
The band wanted to do something special to mark their first 10 years.
In that spirit they are set to unleash four two digital-only albums - a best of (out now) and a B-sides compilation (February 11 2025).
And, at the dawn of their second decade, Four Lions recently headed back into studios Sing Sing, Sydney Road Studio and LBSC with Finn Keane (Wilco, Courtney Barnett) and recorded their sixth album to two inch tape which is slated for a late 2026 release.
Four Lions are Shann Lions (vocals, guitar), Keith Macqueen (guitar, vocals), Gavan Moncrieff (drums) and Dale Lee (bass, vocals).

After pulling off five killer local indie rock festivals and with international flights calling and his own bands taking off, he’s shutting the book on this chapter. Not before one last party, so Shann is teaming up with the team at the Golden Vine Hotel and his favourite brew crew Cornella to put on a three-day music festival on Djaara country, and it’s shaping up to be a deadly farewell.
From Friday November 7 at 5pm ‘til Sunday November 9 at 10pm, the Vine will host a parade of Victoria’s best up-and-coming acts — loud, sweaty, unpredictable, and all crammed into Bendigo’s most iconic dive.
