Proud to celebrate the incredible academic achievement of so many members of the Class of 2026 today. We had the opportunity to honor students who achieved a 4.0 or better across their high school careers, National Honors Society and California Scholarship Federation members, and our valedictorian and salutatorian, Erin Nesmith and Allison Yu, respectively. Congratulations!
This week’s chapel was very special and included an emotional tribute to Addison Hitchcock (Class of 2026), who tragically passed away in 2023. We were blessed to have members of Addison’s family in attendance for this special remembrance and celebration of her life.
Following a time of worship, we heard a strong message from Class of 2024 alum Reese Speers, before announcing some of The Experience 2027 opportunities.
Our third graders had a great field trip to the Leonis Adobe Museum yesterday! Students learned about farming and life in the 1800s, griding corn into flour, making tortillas, throwing a lasso, washing clothes by hand, pumping water from a well, designing their own cattle brand, feeding animals, and so much more. Such a great preview of the California history lessons awaiting them in fourth grade!
Since its founding Village Christian School has been an outreach to our wider community in partnership with local churches. Yesterday, our Spiritual Life Director, Pastor DJ Jenkins, invited pastors & ministry leaders for local churches across the VCS community to share about our common partnership in the gospel and foster further cooperation together at our annual Pastors & Ministry Leaders Luncheon. Praise God with us for a fruitful time together.
