Orchid, 2026 Graphite, charcoal and oil on paper 18x24in I painted almost every day last year. I’ve missed the grit of graphite. I think I’m gonna stay in this house for this next collection. I’m feeling a sense of collective identity shifts, confusion, vulnerability and distortion as we’re witnessing our systems break down. A death that I hope is followed by a rebirth, eventually.. ✏️

This Thursday, January 29, 7:00–8:00 p.m., join us for a special artist talk featuring filmmaker J.J. Anderson and Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist Victoria Cassinova, in celebration of Anderson’s Sometimes I Feel Like I Am Almost Home. Anderson and Cassinova will explore their artistic practices, discuss the film’s themes, and reflect on the question: How can we approach working through hard or dark ideas and themes using a soft lens?

There are moments that split your life into before and after—moments that don’t just define who you are, but what you’re capable of. Painter Victoria Cassinova (@vcassinova ) survived a five-story fall. But what’s remarkable isn’t just that she survived. It’s what she created from it ✨ The latest episode of #WhiteWater is out (that’s two, baby!!) — a conversation with my dear friend Victoria, an LA based visual artist and muralist, about what it really means to rebuild, redefine, and transmute pain into purpose. From learning to walk again to rediscovering her voice as an artist, Victoria shares what she’s learned about slowing down to move forward, surrendering to change, and turning creative expression into medicine. Her work explores the unconscious and unseen — bold, raw, and layered with themes of identity, resilience, and community. She’s collaborated with brands like Netflix, Disney Pixar, adidas, CNN, TIME Magazine, The Washington Post, and Teen Vogue — but it’s her honesty and depth that make her one of the most compelling artists in LA’s contemporary scene. Listen in as Maya and Victoria talk about what it means to be in the White Water——the messy, powerful process of turning change into creative growth. #linkinbio !! *available everywhere you like to listen 💫

Color mixing feels like making potions. I’m painting 4 faces of different ethnicities for this wall. Each face has its own lineage and story of color that I want to honor through these tones. Each cup plays a role 👩🏽‍🔬
