Many of you knew him from causing chaos on the store’s streams many years ago. He was an amazing floof who will be missed dearly.

Variant Edition is a graphic novel store whose goal is to help people find new stories that they will love. Through curating a diverse line of remarkable works, they aim to connect as many new people as possible to the comics and graphic novel medium. Owner and self-dubbed comic sommelier Brandon says, “Indie book stores are vibrant community centers. While the world seems to get larger and more impersonal, an indie book shop offers a place to escape, and a moment to connect with the people around you.”

Through curating a diverse line of remarkable works, we aim to connect as many new people as possible to the comics medium. We provide a relaxed, introvert friendly environment, where we foster an inclusive community that is also family friendly.
Owner Brandon Schatz is a Shuster Award winning comic retailer, and an Eisner Award nominated comics journalist. He is VE’s Comic Sommelier, pairing people with their perfect stories for over 18 years. In his spare time, he likes to watch wrestling with his cats and try his best to catch up on his reading. He will be buried under his “to be read” pile.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: There are TWO DIFFERENT Superman/Spider-Man crossover comics coming out in the next couple months! First: SUPERMAN/SPIDER-MAN #1 from DC, that has final orders due ON MONDAY. Then there's SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN from Marvel, that is on final order NEXT week. Both have different stories! Both will be rad. Don't let goofy comic industry stuff keep you from ordering and enjoying BOTH!
