Weeks posts
Hey there! I’m going to do a small batch of tshirt prints in advance of the holiday season. I screen print these by hand and can do local pickup in Greensboro or ship for a small amount. I’ve set up a little online storefront that should make ordering easy, and there are a couple of new designs this year. I’m going to take orders for one week, starting today. Then I’ll order blanks, print them and have them finished at the beginning of December! Link in bio!

Breaking my lent fast from social media for this quick post. I’m playing a concert of original music this Thursday at 7 PM at Hope Chapel. Would love for you to join, either in person or via the live stream. The link for the stream is in my bio!

I’m stepping back from social media during lent, but wanted to make this one post. It’s the 10th anniversary of my album, Songs in the Night, and I’m doing a live performance of all the songs (plus a handful of other favorites) on Thursday April 3 at 7pm at Hope Chapel in Greensboro. These are songs written in the throes of our family’s experience with childhood cancer and though they are deeply personal, they have resonated with others over the years (s/o Carl Rogers: what’s most personal is most universal). This is the first time since 2015 that I’ve played all of these together live and will also have a full, fantastic band with me. On top of all that… my buddy @jeremygoodwynemusic is going to play some songs to open up the evening. I hope you’ll stop by if you’re able.

Hi folks! I’m making a run of tshirts in advance of the holidays. There are couple of familiar ones and a handful of new designs — they’re ideas that make me smile and feel more alive and I hope some of you might feel the same. I screen print these myself on super soft cotton/poly blend — really nice tees. If you’re interested in buying one, check out the google form in my bio or in the comments below and you can make selections/sizes there. They’re $15 and an extra $5 if you’d like it shipped. Taking orders for one week only!

Join me in bringing light to the darkness of cancer by donating towards my fundraising efforts in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Light The Night. As some of you know, our family has personal ties to this cause as our son, Watts, was diagnosed with Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at 10mo old. He finished a 2-year treatment regiment in 2014 and is now a healthy 12 year-old. Without good care and the fairly recent advancement in treatment methods/drugs, he would absolutely not have made it. And there are still far too many blood cancer patients who do not have a happy ending to their story. Please consider donating toward this important cause! A link is in my bio! Funds raised through Light The Night allow LLS to fund treatments for patients who are suffering from all forms of blood cancers. LLS has helped fund over 70% of FDA-approved blood cancer treatments since 2016. Help defeat the darkness of cancer. Please donate today to continue to help patients and their families across the country!

I graduated with Master of Arts in Counseling & Psychology on Saturday. Most thanks goes to Hannah for her encouragement/vision for me to start the program and her support to make it possible to complete it during such a crazy season of life. I’m also so grateful to have met the extraordinary folks in my cohort (just a few pictured). Thanks to you for carrying me along, especially in the past 18 months. I will be forever impacted and shaped by my time at @theseattleschool and look forward to discovering how the Lord grows these seeds in future years.

Heard the news today that Frederick Buechner has died. I’m filled with gratefulness. No writer has influenced me more deeply, given me more joy, made me feel so seen, or challenged me with more gentleness and strength than Buechner. His writing has made me love God more and expanded my experience of God. Particularly his writing about desire, doubt, loss, and longing, and how those things can be some kind of pathway toward knowing God more deeply. Buechner’s writing was delightful. It was about more than utility; it was about beauty and wonder. I’m including a few of my favorite quotes here, but do yourself a favor and read one of his books. If you need a suggestion of where to start, I’d be so glad to recommend something. RIP Fred. I’m so thankful to the Lord for your good life and work. #frederickbuechner

Happy 12th to Piper Bloom! She is a swirl of energy, life, beauty, vision, and excitement. Kind-hearted and curious. I love her and this strange season just between childhood and young adult. First picture is in Acadia where she and I sprinted out past the rest of the family to the end of the trail. NYC was her favorite stop in out big trip, but as usual, she was all in the whole time ❤️
