Left my heart in Battambang🫀
There was something about standing on the soil your grandparents once walked that hits different. I went looking for stories, but what I found was a whole piece of myself I didn’t know I was missing. I got to see the town that shaped them, meet my late grandfather’s older sister, and be embraced by family I’d never met before— people who greeted me with warmth like they’d known me my whole life!
It felt like coming home to a place I’d never lived in. Familiar in a way only blood and memory can explain. The smiles, the quiet moments, the shared history all of it wrapped around me and made Battambang feel less like a destination and more like a reminder of where I come from.
I walked away full of gratitude, connection, and a deeper sense of who I am. I’m leaving with my heart a little heavier but so much fuller.
