My ending feedback for other makeup artist is when you start building up your portfolio. Make sure to create makeup looks as flawless as possible. Even if you know that there will be editing done. ⠀

This will help you to develop your skill as a makeup artist in the long run, to work quicker, and smoother. It will prepare you for bigger professional shoots. At some professional levels editing is very minimal.⠀

Now I focus my time on learning more about photography. Capturing my own looks with my camera. Working on bringing to life what I have in mind creatively. Still to this day the goal is to create better quality makeup looks. ⠀

Hi Makeup Artist Babes! I want to ask? What preparations and reasons do you find yourself doing makeup for a shoot today? ⠀

I ask this because this is a common topic I get asked about a lot. ⠀
⠀
So in the beginning of my career before I started shooting. All I wanted to do was really to get my makeup on a model and have it captured by a professional photographer. ⠀
⠀
As I started to get connected with some really great ones. I started to realized how the feedback from them and my models helped to shape up the way how I was I applying on makeup during a photoshoot. ⠀
⠀
This was including what products I used , paying close attention to the way how I applied on eyeshadow, foundation, proper color matching. I also took time to consider creating a variety of looks that I wanted to capture. ⠀

Over time I made sure to diversify the models I wanted to work on. ⠀
⠀
In the end I came down to find out what was most important for me when shooting. ⠀
That was capturing a well applied makeup look with a great team. ⠀
⠀
I also learned some steps that were similar to when preparing and during a photoshoot. ⠀
⠀
1. Find a great team to work with. (Professional Photographer, Hairstylist, Model, and sometimes Designer )⠀
⠀
2. Having a mood board of what looks you want to create and or story you want to tell through your shoot. ⠀
⠀
3. Making sure that each person knows what type of images their getting from the shoot. (For me I wanted lots of face images of my makeup with clean details).⠀
⠀
4. Practicing my makeup looks prior to my shoot. So on that day my makeup looks could come out as best as possible. (Shoot day was never a practice day) ⠀

5. On shoot day making sure that after doing the makeup it looks great on my model under the lighting where they are being photographed. ⠀
⠀
6. Asking the photographer when he/she is starting to shoot to see how my models skin looks after the first couple test shots on the camera. Then I would fix any minor details as well as touching up any excess shine.⠀

7. Being available and ready to touch up anything that was needed while the photographer and model were shooting. (Sometimes you just never know throughout the shoot what can happen
