My favorite You Pick farm now has a “Cherry-picked” 😉selection of my jams available in the barn and their new farm stand! Including some newly made Vanderhelm Blues Blueberry Preserves made with their Showchaser variety. Vanderhelm Farms has a special place in my heart and business. I’ve been picking fresh blueberries there as long as I’ve been in business, possibly longer and for good reason. 🫐 whether you’re going by yourself to listen to the birds while you pick, or bringing the whole family, there’s such a beautiful sense of peace and connection amongst the blueberry rows. Vanderhelm is open Monday through Saturday! My little advice is to go mid-week first thing in the morning if you’re able to. You could have a whole row to yourself to get connected to nature and the food you put in your belly. 😍

It's pick-your-own season and we're ready to roll! Spring arrived early and the fruit is ripe. VanderHelm Farms is open Monday through Wednesday 8am to 2pm and Thursday through Saturday 8am to 3pm. We take Sundays off, so our farm can rest too. Varieties like Snowchaser, Springhigh, Star, Jewel, and Venture blueberries are ripe, with more to come. We'll have blueberries ready until the end of July. Honey May yellow nectarines are ripe, and Snow Angel white peaches and Kaylese Apriums are starting to ripen. Royal Tioga and Royal Hazel cherries are also ready. Strawberries are still going strong! We provide the buckets, so come fill one up today. We have a few wagons for you to borrow, you're welcome to bring your own wagon. We do not allow dogs, smoking or alcohol anywhere on the farm. It’s finally time to get your fruit on! Blueberry and Cherry upick is now open, and we’ve still got strawberries and kumquats hanging around. Bring the whole crew - kids, parents, friends, and whoever else you can drag along. We’re stoked to have you! Our Snowchaser blueberries are just starting to ripen, and we’ll have different varieties all the way until the end of July. Come back every week to try them all! The Royal Tioga Cherries are ripe and ready, and the trees are loaded this year. We’ve got a few different cherry varieties, and they’ll be ripe until mid-May. The Cabrillo strawberries are at their best now through the end of May, and we’re trying out a new variety, Ruby June, which should be awesome in June. One more thing - please leave your furry friends at home. We can’t allow animals on the farm, and it’s not safe to leave them in the car. We’ve got picnic tables by the barn, so feel free to bring lunch, but remember, no food in the fields, and no alcohol or smoking anywhere on the farm. That’s it! See you soon!

We didn’t get any rain or hail at the farm yesterday so we will be open this morning, Friday April 10, 10am to noon. Come get your strawberries before the rain does. There are still some kumquats you can pick. The blueberries are starting to ripen, they are more tart than sweet yet. If you like them tart they are ready for you. More will ripen soon. The cherries could be ready next week.

It’s strawberries and kumquat time. This week we are open Tuesday Friday and Saturday 10am to noon. The blueberries have started to turn blue and the cherries and turning red. They should be ripe by next week. There is rain in the forecast for later this week and we will update what is ready to be picked and our hours after the rain.

Only 2 weeks for upick season! The weather is great for a day of picking fruit. July has the sweetest and best tasting peaches and nectarines. Farm Favorite SpiceZee Nectaplum is ripe. Artic Jay white nectarine, Honey Royale yellow nectarine, Klondike white peach, Sierra Rich yellow peach, and Elegant Lady yellow peach are all ripe. They are all sweet and flavorful and only $1.95 right now. If you don’t have time or don’t want to pick your own we sell them by the pound in the Street Car Fruit Stand.
