Another client celebration I wish to acknowledge is @relmstudio 's fourth volume of Interplay, an ezine exploring landscape architecture's role in citymaking. This issue investigates Los Angeles’ meteoric rise onto the world stage. Could our reputation as a car-centric and park-poor city have been averted by better planning, especially given that the father of Landscape Architecture, Fredrick Law Olmsted, and his sons authored two reports for the city between 1924 and 1930? RELM’s Hana Georg and I dive deep into the history of open space in Los Angeles, uncovering seminal influences that continue to shape our urban landscape and cultural preferences.
