Lampshades 🛋️
Two drum lampshade projects! One was thrifted & the other from Home Depot, all fabric grabbed from my personal stash & left over beaded trim.
My Opa made the wooden lamp base many years ago for me. He told me a story of him losing a new pair of shoes in the mud near some train tracks growing up & this piece of wood helped him get unstuck. He kept it for over 40 years before making the project for me randomly one day.
The silver lamp base was given to me by my friend @salenasalinas . It was broken & not working, but I asked if I could have it. Knowing I would one day make the time to work on it!
Working on this one really connected me to my Opa knowing I put time, love, attention, & energy into a project he dove into as well. It sometimes feels as though their hands are guiding you within your own.
I miss you Opa & hope this one made you smile 😀

About 6 years ago I grabbed this couch off Facebook. It was in such poor condition, but was so comfortable to sit on!
I envisioned the day I would actually make time to bring this idea to life, little did I know it would take this long 🙈
BUT I finally finished my version of a ‘thrift flip’ on it last week & refurbished it. I am so proud of it!
Couch: Restained/sanded/woodfilled & stapled trim
Cushions: reused foam with new covers made with scrap fabric
Pillows: reused pillow inserts with new covers made with cording & scrap fabric

The only design pulled from my personal collection, a dress I wore frequently out to shows & gatherings. Once a thrifted two piece xxlarge faux alligator pant suit turned into a slitwoven party dress with side corset ties 🖤 paired with a Wednesday Adam’s inspired parasol handcrafted entirely by hand.
