This is the conclusion of Valentino Barachini’s latest photographic work, published in a limited edition of just 20 copies using found paper. Each copy, numbered and signed, contains a sewn-in poster featuring Japanese calligraphy painted by the artist himself. The closed dimensions are approximately 30x38 cm. The price per copy is 95 euros.

✨BOOK PRESENTATION✨ Friday, April 17th, 7 pm Cara Foresta (2026) by @guidogazzilli published by @graniedizioni with Guido Gazzilli and @valentinobarachini After fleeing from a city that tired his very soul out, it is in the heart of the woods that Guido can find himself again: there he deeply listens to the nearby creatures, and learns how to let go of the weight of his darkest years, marked by the shadowy spiral of the relationship with his father. While among the trees, shards of memories resurface from his childhood, when his father, lost in his illness yet surprisingly calm in the forest, offered him a direction. In town, he makes the acquaintance of Victoria, an unexpected and yet necessary presence. He asks her to follow him in to the forest, and she trustfully accepts the invitation, and allows herself to be led in that realm, where pain meets salvation. Their union takes shape in that silent world: it grows, takes roots and eventually it gives birth to a new life. Both laying on a welcoming ground, Guido feels the presence of a possible future, awaiting. Once a safe retreat, the forest now becomes the place for a new beginning. Cara Foresta is an intimate body of work shaped by time, landscape, and material processes. Moving through photography and handmade surfaces, the project emerges from a physical and emotional immersion in the forest—its light and shadow, its damp air, its slow rhythms. Images are formed through experimental techniques and natural interventions, allowing nature itself to leave traces on the work. Two photographers, two distant horizons. For years, Barachini has photographed the Tyrrhenian Sea just beyond his home in Tuscany with large-format cameras, observing its quiet and ever-changing presence. Christiaens photographs the oceans he encounters during his navigations, capturing waters shaped by wind, distance, and time. Gran Mare brings these two visions together: one rooted in the same shore, the other carried by the experience of sailing across different seas.

Fleeing a city that had slowly consumed his soul, @guidogazzilli enters the heart of the woods and begins a process of rediscovery. Listening to the quiet presence of the creatures that surround him, he learns to let go of the weight of darker years marked by the turbulent relationship with his father. Through experimental techniques and natural interventions, the images take form in collaboration with the environment itself, allowing nature to leave its traces on the work. Fuggito da una città che gli aveva consumato l’anima, Guido nel cuore del bosco ritrova se stesso, ascolta le creature che lo circondano e impara a lasciar andare il peso di anni bui segnati dal vortice oscuro del rapporto con il padre. In mostra un percorso intimo che si snoda tra 150 fotografie: polaroid originali, immagini stampate su carta giapponese, stampe da negativi sotterrati nella foresta per 50 anni, fotografie stampate con trattamenti al litio, e stampe in camera oscura ai sali d'argento su carta trattata con emulsione liquida e macerazione di ghiande raccolte da querce secolari della foresta dove Guido vive. Cara Foresta è uno scivolare―protetti dall’ombra delle foglie e dall’odore umido del sottobosco―nel vivo della propria esistenza per ascoltare il battito del cuore, della natura, della vita che nasce.
