Featured: I got this 1971 1302 Super Beetle when I was 16, and I still own it today at 35. It was given to me by my grandfather’s best friend so I could start driving. The car had not been on the road for 15 years, but it had been stored safely in a shed. With the help of a few friends and a student budget, I got it running again and drove vintage for the next couple of years. Later on, I added a few accessories when I could afford them, slowly making the car my own while continuing to drive it as much as possible. Two years ago, after the car sat in my garage for a while without an engine, I decided it was time to give it new life with the upgrades I had always planned. It has never been fully restored, just some paintwork done about 10 years ago, but now it has a more classic German sport style with four wheel disc brakes, front and rear stabilizer bars, a 2110 engine, reinforced 8x31 gearbox, Recaro seats from the 1980s, Kamei front spoiler, Momo steering wheel, and more. I drive it several times a week, and it is always a joy on the roads of the south of France. Every time I turn the key, I think of my grandfather, and that makes this car truly special. Yesterday I had the chance to attend the Le Mans Classic Series Test Days organized by @peterauto at @circuitpaulricard . Seeing these historic endurance machines on track is always something special. The sound, the atmosphere , the smell of fuel and burnt rubber bring a unique reminder of motorsport’s golden era. Échappement sur mesure. Réalisation d'un échappement sur mesure pour cette Coccinelle 1302 S au look German, sobre et efficace. Les contraintes principales pour ce projet étaient les suivantes : - Une sortie unique prenant place dans l'encoche droite de la jupe d'origine, - Un bruit feutré qui permet de faire de longues distances sans être trop désagréable, - Un produit fini solide et esthétique. S'est ajouté à cela un délai court car le véhicule devait être prêt pour le Car and Coffee du @provence_outlaw une semaine plus tard. Le point de départ de cette fabrication a été un silencieux @vibrant_performance , de conception solide et assez volumineux pour permettre de réduire les volumes sonores. J'ai équipé le collecteur 4 en 1 déjà présent sur le véhicule avec un raccord Vband pour assurer une étanchéité parfaite. L'ensemble de la tubulure a été réalisée en inox 63mm, excepté la sortie finale qui est en 70mm, le tout soudé au TIG bien évidemment.
