“What does birthday mean to you?”
Buatku, ulang tahun selalu terasa aneh.
Tiap kali datang, ada campuran antara dirayakan tapi juga hampa seolah dekat dengan orang lain, tapi tetap terasa berjarak. Rasa itu yang coba aku ekspresikan lewat pengambilan gambar, permainan cahaya, dan gerak, suasana hangat yang justru terasa kosong, seakan mencari sesuatu atau seseorang yang mungkin tidak ada.
‘The cake’ di depan meja jadi simbol dari harapan dan ucapan yang sering kali terasa ambigu; doa yang indah tapi kadang hanya “template” semata.
Semoga di ulang tahun nanti, perasaan yang aneh ini bisa terjawab.
