🎓CALS Senior Spotlight: Cy Stavros
Plant Biology major, Cy knew that he wanted to study one thing when he came to UVM: plants!
He was drawn to UVM by the extensive opportunities for field-based learning, which played a role in his decision to switch from CAS to CALS. Within CALS, he's taken courses closely aligned with his interests and has gained lots of hands-on experience during his time here!
The Honors College student also completed 2 internships in the PBIO department, where the research group plans to publish a manuscript of their findings on plants in mythology. Not only has Cy been involved in research, but he’s also had opportunities such as a study abroad course in Costa Rica, involvement in the UVM Gymnastics Club, and the Quizbowl Club.
Post-graduation, Cy is considering grad school and a research career, built on the foundation he’s gained here in CALS.
Congrats, Cy! 🌟
