“A reflection on memory, identity, and the weight of tradition.
There is a point where the personal and the collective meet, where memory is no longer just mine, but becomes part of something older, larger — a fabric woven over centuries, made of stories, bodies, rituals, silences.
Knot of Spirit is the tension I carry within: a longing for belonging, for a place that holds my history, even when I don’t fully understand it, It is a knot — emotional, symbolic, ancestral — formed by the weight of a tradition I did not choose, yet which has shaped me deeply.
This project is rooted in the Misteri of Trapani, a procession that is not merely a religious event, but a living archive of a community’s soul. The sculptures move, not because they are animated, but because men surrender their bodies to memory.
It is here, in this collective knot, that I found my thread.
The knot is not to be undone, it holds together past and present, sacred and secular, grief and beauty.”
