Button up! Some scans and pics from my portfolio for a publication project in response to the ISTD weather brief 🧥☔️
Button Up is a publication exploring how we prepare for weather through our clothing, focusing on the everyday ritual of getting dressed rather than the weather itself. Using temperature ranges, typographic lists, visual catalogues, and articles it turns this daily routine into a playful design system, finished with a buttoned format inspired by outerwear.

From Saigon With Love explores the unspoken subtleties of love in Vietnamese culture, highlighting actions expressed rather than verbal declarations of affection.
This is for the people that grew up with not I Love Yous, but home cooked food, bike rides, and impromptu celebrations - even of the most minute accomplishments.
This is a reflective archive with images and videos taken from the family camera roll. Even if the concept doesn’t fully resonate - I hope you enjoy the words + clips, and find a little insight into what it was like growing up in Saigon ❤️

Photographic Publication: 'Controlled Chaos'
‘Controlled Chaos’ is a photographic publication that surrounds the idea of happy accidents, providing proof to those who don’t believe failures can be wonderful outcomes.
It aims to capture the whimsical nature of the human body through contemporary dance photography, conveying the elegance and poise of the art form. This is contrasted with the experimental, chaotic mishaps of mark-making and handwriting, using out-of-context excerpts from an interview about her dance experiences and perspectives.

Based on ‘Hidden in the Sand’ by Tally Hall, this project interprets the song as a metaphor for ignoring red flags within a relationship, which are obviously present but easily overlooked.
One of the funnest projects I've ever done, this marks the first time I've learnt and used Blender! Aside from almost going bald, I'm very proud ofthe work I've done and am excited to learn and use more Blender in future works 😎
Thank you so much to members of Tallyhall who provided me with permission to use their song for my assessment! I adore this song and it was a real pleasure to work with it 🩷

Music in Motion assesment
My music video concept explores the toxic intimacy between two girls, showing how love can effortlessly evolve into obsession. Drawing on and subverting the idea of the red string theory, I visually embody their connection through the use of string, symbolising control, entanglement, and cycles of pain. In doing so, the visual language not only materialises their emotional dependency, but also amplifies and reinterprets Nastyona’s lyrics as an embodied and immersive experience.
This is a love letter to the song and one of my favourite artists <3 @loveisyona

Promaja publication; in response to the ISTD brief of weather 🌬️
Promaja is based on a deeply held Balkan belief that sitting in direct wind; especially between two windows, will make you extremely ill. It represents a complex supersition that has been apart of the lives of all generations.

Water Puppetry VR Experience
87832 VC Design Studio: Design Practice - Design Project A
Words cannot describe the fun I had with this project. What a joy it is to bring this idea to life. This immersive VR experience reinterprets Vietnamese water puppetry, an art form deeply tied to my childhood memories.
A big shoutout to my amazing tutor Linda Dement, for helping me every step of the way <3
