Most times I make a post, people call me lucky. And sometimes I just laugh because do you really know what luck is? Or you people just throw the word luck around anyhow? Let me remind you. This was me in 2023. I had just gotten admission into the university and I saved up ₦20,000 from graphic designing. And if you know me very well, you will know one thing about me I would rather d*e than beg somebody for money. I’m saying it plainly. So for you to understand the courage it took me to enter this person’s DM, you need to understand how desperate I was. This person was like an older friend to me, somebody I respected. And I needed just ₦15,000 to complete my acceptance fee. Just ₦15,000. After thinking and overthinking for days, after cracking my head not knowing where to go, not knowing who to ask, I finally gathered courage to send the message. And guess what? I was ignored. No response nothing. And no, I’m not entitled to anybody’s help. Let me make that clear. Nobody owes me anything. I’m only sharing this because some of you see where people are today and immediately shout luck. You did not see the nights they cried. You did not see the embarrassment. You did not see the fear. You did not see the moments they almost gave up. You only saw the result. When you see me doing what I’m doing today, understand that I know where I’m coming from. I know what it feels like to not have money. I know what it feels like to not afford ₦100. I know what it feels like to not afford ₦15,000.
