We have had several reports over the past couple of days from community members who have been texted or messaged by someone claiming to be the Humane Society of Utah in a new scam. Community members who have lost pets are being targeted.
The texter will say that they work for the Humane Society of Utah and we have your lost pet, but you’ll have to pay a fee to reclaim them.
THESE MESSAGES ARE NOT US, IT’S A SCAM! As a private organization, we legally cannot intake stray or lost pets, and thus will never be asking you to pay a fee to reclaim a lost pet. Please do not fall for these texts, and if you are able to, share screenshots of the message with the local authorities or report the scam at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been over a year since he came home, but he’s fit into our lives like he’s always belonged. Since then, we’ve loved watching him slowly come out of his shell, show more of his sweet, goofy personality, and learn lots of new tricks.
Creed howls at sirens 🚨, never forgets a meal time 🍽️, and truly thinks everyone and everything is his friend. He always finds a way to make us laugh. Through two moves this year, he’s stayed right by our side and taken everything in stride. Creed loves nap time with his dad and puts himself to bed right on time every night, but being outside soaking everything in on car rides is his favorite 🚗

Much like the fairytale character he resembles, 1 YO Zoodle is adventurous, agile, and suave. One minute he's purring loudly and lovingly headbutting you, the next he's chasing a catnip mouse, fast as lightning! Basically, Zoodle is the best of both worlds 🐱
Zoodle transferred to us from another shelter without much information, so we aren't sure what his life looked like prior to arriving at HSU. Perhaps he was off on adventures with an ogre and a donkey? In any case, Zoodle is ready to make new, great memories with YOU! 🫏

Goose is one of our longest-stay dogs, which is baffling, because he's such a charmer. One of Goose's favorite pastimes is curling up and listening to talk radio, bringing a whole new meaning to "Talk to me, Goose!" He also loves to swim! 🌊
