UTAH RAP SPOTLIGHT: @stillundefeated_gme Born in Provo and later shaped by years in Arizona before returning to Utah, StillUndefeated carries a perspective built from both structure and ambition. Raised around values centered on faith, discipline, and family, he learned early how to stay grounded while still pushing toward bigger goals. Music was always present in his life from choir performances and church music to freestyling during basketball runs but things became serious five years ago when he began building a real vision for his future. That vision expanded even further after being accepted into Berklee College of Music, where he began approaching music with intention, professionalism, and long-term focus. Inspired by artists ranging from The Fugees and The Egyptian Lover to Eminem, Drake, Kanye West, NF, and Bryson Tiller, his sound blends lyricism, energy, and purpose. His name, StillUndefeated, represents resilience through every obstacle showing up daily with faith, consistency, and discipline no matter the pressure. For StillUndefeated, Utah’s biggest challenge is balancing the state’s strong religious culture with hip-hop’s roots in struggle and self-expression. Rather than choosing one side, he’s focused on merging both worlds authentically while continuing to evolve into the best version of himself. That mindset fuels both his music and message: pursue your purpose fully, ignore limitations, and build the life you envision. His upcoming release “Members Only” centers around growth, ambition, and surrounding yourself with people committed to leveling up. Supported by collaborators including HiveMinded Studios, Gorilla Mafia Entertainment, R&R Entertainment, Storm Tour, and fellow Berklee creatives, he’s building not just music, but a complete brand rooted in professionalism and longevity. Looking ahead, StillUndefeated sees himself headlining tours, growing his fanbase city by city, expanding into venue ownership and live event production, and helping Utah’s scene evolve into a more connected, business-minded culture. The mission stays clear: keep building, keep growing, and stay undefeated. #utahrap #stillundefeated

UTAH RAP SPOTLIGHT: OWN @iluv_u_own Coming out of Ogden, OWN’s story is rooted in reality—growing up surrounded by distractions, learning early that if you want something, you have to go get it yourself. Raised by a single mother who fought to keep everything together, he credits her as his biggest inspiration, shaping both his mindset and his music. That independence defines everything, even his name. Inspired by a lyric that said “I’ve always been on my own,” and later discovering his own name carried a similar meaning, OWN became more than an alias—it became identity and purpose. Music has always been an outlet for him, something deeper than just a hobby. From a young age, it was his escape, a way to process life and block out the noise around him. Influenced by his brothers’ group Destruction Family, along with artists like Drake, NAV, Post Malone, and The Weeknd, OWN leans into melodic, late-night energy that reflects both vulnerability and ambition. Fully hands-on with his craft, he writes and records himself, working closely with his producer June—someone he calls his brother—who helps shape the majority of his sound. Together, they’re building something organic, rooted in trust and consistency. OWN’s message is simple but powerful: you can do anything you set your mind to, so do what makes you happy because you only get one life. While he sees beauty in Utah’s scene and acknowledges the genuine people within it, he also recognizes the lack of support that can come with chasing a dream locally. Doubt, criticism, and being underestimated are all part of the process, but quitting has never crossed his mind. “My dream is something I never thought about giving up.” OWN’s vision goes beyond music—he wants to pave the way for real creatives, proving that success is possible from where they are. In five years, he sees himself on tour, sold-out shows, and sharing that success with the people he loves. Whether it’s collaborating with his circle or dreaming of working with artists like Larry June or Wiz Khalifa, the goal stays the same: build something real, stay true, and do it on his own terms. #utahrap #own

UTAH RAP SPOTLIGHT: CODY HIMSELF @codyhimself Cody Himself brings a perspective shaped far beyond Utah, growing up in Southern California and spending time in the Chicago suburbs during the rise of Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa. Influenced by artists like Mac Miller, Bones, and Isaiah Rashad, his sound reflects a mix of introspection, culture, and real-life experience. Being one of six adopted children in a diverse household helped shape his open-minded outlook early, something that shows through in both his music and message. While music was always a passion, everything shifted in 2021 when he sought help for alcoholism, turning his craft into a form of therapy rooted in honesty and growth. Now, his music stands as both reflection and release. In Utah, Cody Himself embraces the underdog role, recognizing both the love in the scene and the room for growth. His music is deeply personal, often centered around recovery, self-reflection, and progression, contrasting past struggles with present stability. Recently married, a homeowner, and building a life he once fought for, he channels that gratitude into every record. His name itself represents authenticity, inspired by movements like Pro Era where identity and artistry collide without separation. His latest release “Weed Em Out” pushes a mindset of discipline and elevation, doubling as a motivational anthem for those focused on leveling up mentally and physically. Working with producers like Sphynx and Osvma, alongside his team at FlowState Music Group and Hiveminded Studios, Cody continues to refine his sound while staying grounded in purpose. Since moving to Utah in 2018, he’s opened for names like Locksmith, King Iso, Rittz, Berner, and more, steadily building his presence. Looking ahead, Cody Himself is focused on growth, collaboration, and pushing Utah’s scene forward. With major collaborations in the vault and a vision for a stronger culture, he’s not just chasing success—he’s building something that lasts, rooted in resilience, purpose, and the belief that life is always worth living. #utahrap #codyhimself

UTAH RAP SPOTLIGHT: WAVLEE (OGDEN, UT) @wav_lee Born in Ogden with roots stretching through Rose Park and Brigham City, Wavlee’s sound is built off contrast—punk and hardcore energy fused with 90s/2000s hip hop and R&B. Early inspiration came from names like Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar, Flatbush Zombies, and A$AP Rocky, while local artists like ferrarismoke, Adam Banx, and moptopmurda helped shape his awareness of Utah’s scene. Music became serious for him in 2021, but the foundation was laid early—playing drums in church where hip hop and R&B were remixed into gospel, unknowingly building the ear and discipline that would define him as a producer. Wavlee approaches music differently. To him, there’s nothing hard about chasing music in Utah—the real challenge is breaking the mindset that you need to be somewhere else to succeed. That philosophy reflects in his name, a blend of WAV (sound/water) and LEE, inspired by Bruce Lee’s “be like water” mentality—adaptable, fluid, and always evolving. Rather than pushing a message, Wavlee focuses on feeling, creating records that transport listeners into entirely different worlds the moment they press play. His recent collaboration “4AM” with Alley Rocket ft. BobCat came together during a late-night Brooklyn session and later landed on the “Heartbreak Kid” EP, capturing that raw, in-the-moment energy he thrives on. Operating under Wav Lee Productions LLC and in partnership with Rap Villain Records (NJ), Wavlee has worked with over 200 artists across the 801, building more than just songs—he builds people. His role in Utah’s culture is rooted in development, pushing artists to think bigger, move with purpose, and create without fear. He believes the scene is in a strong position, filled with talent and resources, but emphasizes that artists need to stop labeling themselves as “local” and start providing real value to a global audience. For Wavlee, leadership means setting a higher standard and helping others reach it. His vision is clear—touring, elevating others, and helping push Utah into a higher level. “In 2022 I wanted this life. It didn’t even take five years.” #wavlee #utahrap
