The four astronauts onboard the Orion spacecraft for the Artemis II mission have traveled further from Earth than any other people in human history. A group of Texas Engineering alumni played a pivotal role in making this historic mission happen.

As part of a group project in C++, âIntroduction to Programmingâ students designed interactive UT campus treasure hunt gamesâand the results are seriously impressive. From creative gameplay to clever coding, their demo videos showcase just how much theyâve learned (and how fun programming can be).

From capstone project to career-launching innovation, Andrew Doty helped lead the UT-led FLARE-X team in building an autonomous fleet of small aircraft designed for early wildfire detection and suppression.
Â
Working alongside students, researchers, and faculty, Andrew helped develop technology aimed at stopping fires before they grow into disasters.
Â
After graduation, he continued supporting the effort through AIVE, a startup that grew out of FLARE-X.
