Two art students from Japan, Riku & Ryohei, are opening their workspace to the public. Come by, have a chat, see their process, or just hang out while getting a peek into what they’re working on. 🌱🎨
Process on Progress is a program that supports artists in presenting their creative process in the midst of their journey—not just the final result. It offers a space for experimentation, dialogue, and cross-disciplinary networking with the public.
✨ Riku Eimura – An artist from Hokkaido (born 2003) and a student at Tohoku University of Art and Design. His works explore the boundary between everyday life and art, combining painting, sculpture, and video with an intuitive, spontaneous approach. He also leads Modern Angels, a creative collective that works with the spirit of “Iki Atari Battari”—embracing encounters, opportunities, and unexpected moments as part of the artistic process.
✨ Ryohei Shimada – An artist from Shizuoka (born 2002), currently based in Tokyo. He works with paper, collage, and installation, breaking down traditional painting formats into fluid and experimental compositions. Inspired by a sense of density that feels both overwhelming and magical, his works often create visual spaces where small fragments merge into unexpected new narratives.
