Twice the impact, twice the pride! Two of our graduating students have been named Golden Bull Award recipients, one of USF’s highest honors recognizing exceptional leadership, service, and dedication to both the university and the broader community.
🎓 Reva Gandhi, BSPH
Superpower: Reva has advanced health care access through system-level innovation, including helping launch a mobile health clinic in Manatee County, improving clinic operations at USF BRIDGE Clinic and creating tools that increased patient capacity and efficiency.
🎓 Victoria Phan, BSHS
Superpower: Victoria led large-scale student health initiatives and served as a peer advisor leader, mentoring more than 75 students. She also advanced research on milk protein composition. In addition, she strengthened campus efforts in mental health, sexual health and substance misuse education.

🎓 Kennedy Miller, BSPH
Claim to fame: Kennedy built a foundation in wildlife, veterinary and shelter work that led her to public health, where she now bridges animal health and population health through a zoonotic disease lens.
🎓 Hannah Mammen, MPH in environmental and occupational health
Superpower: As a USF CERT leader and disaster response advocate who launched a “Hurricane 101” safety campaign, Hannah trained 188 students in FEMA-aligned CERT operations, earned multiple leadership and service awards and presented research at USF Health Research Day and statewide disaster safety forums.
🎓 Brooke Alejandra Martinez, MPH in epidemiology and a graduate certificate in applied biostatistics
Superpower: Brooke turned a personal diagnosis of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome into a driving force for public health research, serving as primary investigator on an international manuscript during her applied practice experience in Japan.

🎓 Kelvin Asare, BSPH with minors in biology and infection control
Post-grad plans: Kelvin will be traveling to Lisbon, Portugal as part of the USF Honors College study abroad physician observation program for two weeks. He has a long-term goal of becoming a physician engaged in infectious disease and global health research.
🎓 Cecilia Delsanti, MSPH in genetic counseling
Post-grad plans: Serving as the first prenatal genetic counselor at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and expanding access to prenatal genetics services, with plans to become a clinical supervisor for the USF Genetic Counseling Program.
Congratulations to Judith Rijnhart, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology in the USF College of Public Health, on receiving the Valerie D. Riddle, MD, Award in Health! 🎉
Dr. Rijnhart's research explores why dementia risk differs by gender, with a focus on whether caregiving roles contribute to that risk. This award will help accelerate data collection for her study and support applications for grants through the Alzheimer's Association and National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health — advancing efforts to prevent dementia.

🎓 Aarya Satardekar, MPH
Claim to fame: Aarya is a first-author researcher on racial disparities in cancer care in Florida, earning 1st place at the 2026 Association of American Cancer Institutes CADEx National Conference. She was also awarded the Sam P. Bell, III Public Health Policy Scholarship this semester.
Post-grad plans: Aarya plans to move to Oxford, Miss. to pursue her PhD in pharmacy administration.
🎓Zamira Ortiz, BSHS with a concentration in biological sciences
Super power: Resilience. While balancing a heavy workload and overcoming personal and health challenges, Zamira gained a deep appreciation for compassionate, patient-centered care.
Post-grad plans: Zamira plans to pursue a career as a physician assistant, with the goal of working in pediatrics.
