Marisa Torelli-Pedevska (@thisisrisss ) is a 2022 MFA graduate of the USC Screenwriting Program. Having accumulated many awards for her scripts––notably, Take Me Home, won the USC Jay Roach award and her coming-of-age feature, Jesus Goes to Goodland, was a semi-finalist in the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, placing in the top 140 scripts—Marisa is also the co-founder of Inevitable Foundation (@inevitablefoundation ), a nonprofit investing in disabled writers and filmmakers so they can achieve artistic and financial freedom. Heliya Alam ‘17 is a young Persian-American film director/producer who drives to tell emotional, character-driven stories focusing on the depth of the human experience. Having directed and produced several short films, one of which made it to Cannes Short Corner, her most recent work @thelist2089 is an intense drama that discusses mental health through the lens of science fiction. @nicholashatton ’09 is a twice Emmy-nominated television and film producer. He’s best known for producing Jury Duty (Freevee), recently nominated for four Emmys, as well as Who Is America? (Showtime) and Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm (Amazon), which won the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy Feature. He founded Swindle Pictures in 2022 alongside Jason Woliner (director of Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm and Paul T. Goldman).
