USC Marshall MBV alumnus Vladillen Gonzalez and EMBA student Ryan Crider helped make history through their contributions to NASA’s Artemis II mission.
Gonzalez served as quality engineering manager for the Orion spacecraft, overseeing its construction and safety. “Launch was a very emotional moment for me,” he said. “You’re watching years of work come together in minutes… MBV helped me think more strategically and position myself for leadership.”
When the capsule splashed down in the Pacific, Crider was there to greet the crew as master diver for the recovery mission. Both credit Marshall’s education and community for helping shape their career trajectories. Reflecting on the EMBA program, Crider said, “I knew I wanted to be part of a community that helped each other out, believed in each other, and did everything they could to ensure one another’s success — because that’s what I’ve grown up with.”
