Magnolia Memory Care was on campus today to observe student teams’ presentations on business plan documents for its pilot program in Lancaster, The Magnolia Center for Brain Health. MMC’s vision is to empower caregivers on their journey with Alzheimer’s and related dementias, ensuring they have the support needed to provide the best care. This project, led by Dr. Amy Gerald in her Business Writing classes, is an example of USCL’s Project-Based Learning partnerships. Yesterday, through our partnership with Lancaster Promise Neighborhood, USC Lancaster hosted the very first USCL Pathways to Possibilities for students from A. R. Rucker Middle School
Throughout the day, these middle school students connected with faculty and staff, explored campus, and participated in interactive sessions introducing them to a variety of academic pathways and future opportunities. Each experience was designed not only to inform, but to help students begin to see themselves in spaces like this.
We are grateful for our community partners and for the collective effort across campus that made this day possible. Moments like this matter — because when students are given early exposure and encouragement, they begin to realize that college, and the future it represents, is within reach.

Students in Professor Martek’s Geology 103 class shared their “Save the Earth” displays during Earth Day Open House yesterday. Our campus community enjoyed learning more about these creative and informative topics. 🌎
Lancers, remember that today (4/21) is the last day to withdraw from 2nd 8-weeks courses with a W grade that doesn't affect your GPA. Talk with your advisor and Financial Aid before withdrawing.
