AMERICA’S GREATEST EXPORT IS LEAVING HOME Not oil. Not wheat. Not steel. Stories. American stories, told through American cameras, projected onto screens in 195 countries. The entire planet watches us. Has watched us since Edison rolled film in West Orange. That projector is leaving the country. On December 31, 2025, Section 181 of the tax code expired. The only federal incentive built to keep film and television production on American soil. Congress let it die. Meanwhile the UK offers up to 34 percent. Canada stacks to 70. Hungary, Ireland, Australia, the list runs long, and every country on it is spending real money to take American productions off American soil. In our inaugural issue, Co-Founder Adam Nelson makes the case for the @usa__cap and the fight to bring Section 181 back. The country that outsources its stories outsources its soul. That is not an economic argument. That is a national security argument. SOCKO! keeps score in New Jersey. The straight dope on shoots, deals, players, and power moves shaping the state’s screen scene. Subscribe for more. It’s fantastically free!
