One of the most touching moments from the USS Gerald R. Ford #Homecoming was seeing SAGE the therapy dog return safely after an incredible 11 month deployment supporting the crew at sea. 🐾
From helping sailors through long days and difficult moments to bringing comfort and morale aboard the ship, Sage became more than a Expeditionary Facility Dog dog… she became family.

⚓️After serving aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford during an 11 month deployment, Sage is finally home… and the reunion with @someguynamedallen the man who helped raise, train, and prepare her through Mutts With A Mission @muttswithamission was nothing short of emotional. 🥲
🦮From the very beginning, Sage was never “just a dog.” She was raised with purpose. Trained with patience. Loved like family. Every late night, every training session, every challenge was all building toward something bigger than any one person.
And then came the moment every puppy raiser both fears and hopes for… letting go so she could go serve others.
Seeing Sage step back home after helping sailors during a record breaking deployment was a reminder that service comes in many forms. Sometimes it wears a uniform. Sometimes it has four legs and a wagging tail. 🇺🇸
For Allen, this reunion wasn’t just about seeing Sage again. It was about seeing a mission fulfilled. Seeing a dog he poured his heart into become a source of comfort, emotional support, and strength for the men and women serving our country at sea.
Not every hero carries a weapon.
Some carry hope.
