Last month I spent 30 days traveling across Asia, collecting references and paying attention to the small things I could bring back home to influence my work. From Tokyo subway souvenirs and museum bookstores to experimental K-pop albums, this trip reminded me that inspiration can come from literally anywhere. As designers, curating what we consume is a big part of the creative process. It helps you build a visual baggage that can inspire a project you’re working on or just become a random fact you annoy your friends with. Thanks @us.aprender.design for the invitation <3

A View on Design with Marcos Rodrigues (@marcos___rp ) and Rafael Bessa (@rafaelxvx ), instructors of our new course: Visual Design for Interfaces. Popular with our Brazilian students, the course is now available in English and more updated than ever. “I’d say the course today feels more mature and more connected to the current reality of the industry, especially considering how quickly things are changing with AI, automation, and new workflows.” said Marcos. Design with context, elevate your visual sensitivity and deepen your fundamentals with theory and practice in the Visual Design for Interfaces course. If you already work in the field and want to improve your visual design skills, this course is for you. If you’re new to the area or coming from another design discipline, it will help you understand how to approach visual design for interfaces. Design from Chile. What happens when design is shaped far from the usual centers of influence? And what happens when it’s also shaped in the middle of political tension? This post looks at Chilean design through that lens, moving from the early 1970s to today. Across different moments, design becomes a way to organize, communicate, adapt, and remember. From the visual language of Unidad Popular to the material expressions found in arpilleras, and into contemporary practices that continue to navigate between structure and disruption, a continuous thread starts to emerge. One where memory is constructed over time, and where context plays an active role in shaping how design is made and understood. We're starting a new editorial exploring design and art beyond the traditional centers of influence. By approaching this as a series of capsules, we aim to build a more global school of thought over time, bringing us closer to different contexts while also opening space for perspectives from our own community to take part in shaping it.

Brazilian Creatives We Love: Meet Roma Joana (@roma.romama ), Creative Director, Film Director and Photographer. In our interview series, we take a closer look at the people, processes, and perspectives shaping contemporary design. This time, we spoke with Roma Joana, a multidisciplinary creative working across design, film, and visual storytelling. Her practice moves between formats, exploring how ideas take shape through different languages and mediums. In the conversation, Roma reflects on process, references, and the role of intuition in building meaningful work, offering a glimpse into a practice that is both fluid and intentional. “Design is the desire of becoming. It’s about bringing into the world something that previously existed only as an idea, on the verge of being born. From a linguistic perspective, designation is a function through which we refer to people and objects — in other words: to choose, determine, name, show, and characterize”.  Read the full interview on our library - link in bio.  Cover Photo by Mada @madakya
