Had to share this one. Luca Sardelis was recently invited onto the GO PLUCK YOURself podcast, and it’s absolutely worth a listen.
I’ve had the privilege of working with Luca on two projects. She played Lindy in The Devil’s Work and brings Hannah to life in Ruby, Ruby. What she brings to a role is rare, there’s an honesty and emotional depth that really stays with you.
If you’re interested in acting, storytelling, or just hearing from someone who genuinely cares about the craft, take the time to check this out:

I’ve been thinking a lot about where my horror filmmaking journey all started.
20 years ago, I made my first horror film Family Demons on a $7,000 budget. We shot it in just two weeks in January 2006, right in the middle of a brutal heatwave, 40+ degree days that felt never-ending. It was intense, exhausting, and honestly a bit mad… but we did it.
What I remember most is the people. An incredible cast and crew who showed up, gave everything, and believed in the project.
When the film was finally released in 2009, the horror community here in Australia and overseas embraced it in a way I never expected. That little film became the beginning of my journey as an independent horror filmmaker and I haven’t looked back since.

Diving deep into the shadows as I develop my new creature feature horror.
Going back to some of the greats for inspiration, The Descent, Alien, and Aliens.
Each of these films builds tension, character, and fear in completely different ways, and I am curious what sticks with people the most.
Which one gets under your skin and why?

Ruby, Ruby is deep in post-production right now. We’re crafting the sound design and building the music score, bringing the supernatural world to life piece by piece. Can’t wait to share more soon. 🎬🎞️

I found this video from 30 November 2025, right before heading out to shoot Ruby, Ruby. It was early, the world was still, and I took a quiet moment to give myself a little pep talk, reminding myself I’ve got this. Feeling focused, positive, and ready for whatever the day brings. 🎬🎞️
