Every year Ground Hum offers an exploration of many art forms and we are thrilled to bring an experimental duo melding two disciplines into their practice: Hannah Rice & Casey Adams.
Hannah @urstrooly and Casey @noisewatermeat are a performance duo from Seattle, Washington centered on the question, does sound move the body, or body move sound? Their work utilizes movement, sound and spatial practice to create site specific work that is grounded in environmental resonance and exploration. In performance they believe that sound, space and the presence of both audience and performer, are part of an embodied participation in place. One that confronts ideas of presence/absence, silence/noise and the eternal/external experiences of being. They are looking forward to presenting their most recent experiments in installation for body-based performance at Ground Hum!
Rare and raw footage of my brother being very patient behind the camera as I figure out the vision.

Hey there Columbus friends,
I wanted to personally invite you to a small, intimate showing of RP, a dance work currently in development that I’ve been building over the past year. This version of the work is still in a generative stage, sharing a series of ideas and explorations that are placed in conversation rather than as a fixed, continuous piece.
RP is informed by my family’s history of visual impairment and explores movement through my Poc-Chuc technique, blending Mexican Ballet Folklórico and contemporary dance practices. This process has involved workshopping scores that shift perception and reframe how movement and rhythm are experienced through memory. I’ve been working alongside Hannah Rice, Yinqi Wang, Omar Humphrey, and Maggie Liang in the development of this material.
This showing offers a glimpse into the evolving work and world of a current solo that will not be shared that evening. I would really love to have you in the space as I continue shaping it.
I’m also grateful to Kym McDaniel for their support in projection design, and to Jonathan and Madi for their technical support in bringing this showing together. Please know that this project was supported by the Greater Columbus Arts Council and by other community members.
