Great to receive Planning Consent for an additional 22 supported accommodation beds at the Riverview Lutheran Rest Home in Loxton. URPS worked closely with Brown Falconer Architects to emphasise the careful consideration given to the sloping site, as well as the interface with adjoining residential properties. We also liaised closely with the local Council to deliver a Planning Consent that met the tight timeframes of grant funding for the project.

A green light for the revamp of the Alice Plaza Shopping Centre. This includes new mall entry, shops, loading dock, and extensive car parking. URPS helped address design and appearance challenges, heritage and traffic impacts, the pedestrian environment and interaction with Todd Mall. Protecting existing trees and providing landscaping/shade were also paramount given the hot climate. We acknowledge the collaboration with Alice Springs Town Council and the Northern Territory Government. The integration of this significant upgrade with other nearby developments and road upgrades will magnify the positive impact on Alice Springs.

Great to get approval from Tea Tree Gully Council’s Assessment Panel for a 138-bed supported accommodation facility in Wynn Vale. This adds to Arcare’s portfolio of 59 supported accommodation facilities across Australia. URPS added value by convincing the Council that: - This is an appropriate land use in the Community Facilities Zone. - 4 storeys are appropriate amongst nearby 1 and 2 storey dwellings. - 6 Regulated Trees could be removed. This type of development blends housing, health care, and great design (shout-out to Via Architects). Just what South Australia needs for our aging community.

Today we farewell Rosanna Palumbo after 16 years at URPS. Throughout her time with us, Rosanna has been a constant dependable, reliable, and always willing to support others, often quietly and behind the scenes. That steady contribution is rare, and it has made a genuine difference to how our business operates. Rosanna has played an important role in the growth and success of URPS. Our achievements are built on trust, strong relationships, and people who care deeply about doing things properly and Rosanna embodies all of that. While it’s never easy to say goodbye, the time has come for a new chapter. Rosanna leaves having given this firm everything she had to give, and she should be immensely proud of that. Wherever she goes next, she will be an incredible asset not just for what she does, but for who she is. On behalf of everyone at URPS, thank you, Rosanna, for your dedication, kindness, and lasting impact. We wish you, Claude, Leila, and Massimo all the very best. You will be deeply missed and always part of URPS.

A $55 million, eight storey residential development comprising two towers above a podium and 88 new apartments has been approved within the Glenside precinct for Cedar Woods. The project delivers a high quality mix of one , two and three bedroom apartments, thoughtfully arranged across two architecturally distinctive buildings connected by a shared basement. Generous balconies, refined architectural detailing, and a strong relationship with surrounding heritage buildings establish a new benchmark for contemporary living in Glenside. URPS added significant value by preparing a comprehensive Planning Statement, coordinating specialist consultants, and guiding the proposal through the complex policy framework of the Urban Corridor (Living) Zone, multiple Overlays, and sensitive heritage considerations. Our assessment demonstrated clear alignment with the Planning and Design Code, supporting a streamlined assessment pathway with no public notification required, despite the proposal initially being raised for consultation. Clear and robust planning justification was provided by URPS, resulting in approval from the State Commission Assessment Panel. Careful siting and high quality design outcomes ensured a sensitive interface with surrounding properties, including: - No overshadowing of adjoining residential dwellings - Preservation of the setting of State Heritage Places - Appropriate building height and massing consistent with the precinct context.

Planning Consent granted for Karidis Corporation’s development in the heart of Glenelg. Delivering 56 retirement living apartments as the next stage of Karidis’ Avista retirement living community. The development also includes several levels of serviced apartments, a ground-floor restaurant overlooking Colley Reserve, and a publicly accessible pedestrian link enhancing connectivity. URPS added value to this project by: 1. Reducing the number of objections from neighbours. We did this by running voluntary pre-lodgement community engagement including public drop in and information sessions. 2. Convincing SCAP that an 18-storey building was appropriate where there is a 12 storey height guideline. We did this through strong contextual design arguments. 3. Streamlining the assessment timeframe to just over 4 months. We did this by engaging in the pre-lodgement design review process and preparing a comprehensive development application. A pleasure to collaborate with Baukultur and the broader consultant team: Phil Weaver & Associates, RAWTEC, Resonate Consultants, Onyx Aeronautics, GAMA and Robert Bird Group.
