It’s been a minute since my last ig post,
life looks a little different now stepping into motherhood has been equal parts magic and messy. I’m ready to show up again
Over the last 9 months me and my fiancée @urfavjerri have been cooking up something pretty special ….Introducing baby girl ‘Satta Grace Sianneh Phillip’.
Our fist child and the newest member of the clan arrived a couple weeks early on 4th January. Mumma is healthy and baby is thriving. Sleep is a distant memory.
The last week has been the most profoundly beautiful and intense few days of my life. Our purpose changed forever & I wouldn’t alter a thing.
Honestly in awe of Jerri and all mothers (& midwife’s and nurses.)
You can call me Dadley Zero now x
Back home in Australia, I never really got to express or experiment with different hairstyles but moving to the UK whole new vibe! I’ve always called these cornrows, but now I’m hearing canerows… and that’s just the start!
Turns out, this style has different names all over the world—Irun Kiko in Yoruba, Didi in Nigeria, Matutas in Kenya, Koornrye in Afrikaans, and even Conrows or Carrows in the Caribbean. Same style, different accents!
It’s Time to Ditch the Words “Cornrows” and “Canerows” and Call Them Didi Braids Instead

Learning, growing, and finally feeling like me—who else has had a little language or culture switch-up since moving states or counties? #Cornrows #Canerows #IrunKiko #Didi #Matutas #Koornrye #Conrows #Carrows #expressyourself
