URA đ¤ Building a better Burgh
Catch our team again tomorrow from noon-5 PM at 604 Liberty Avenue and around the Downtown. We love connecting with fans and residents to share more about our work to create a stronger future for Pittsburgh. Say hi and learn more about why we think this city is a great place to call home and do business.
We did a little spring cleaning to our building at 604 Liberty Ave. Come by Thursday or Friday afternoon to talk to us about what we do around the city!
The URA is requesting proposals for the redevelopment of 6.8 acres of the Lower Hill. We're looking for housing development plans with affordable or market-rate units, and we are open to mixed-use proposals with first floor commercial spaces.
Returning some of this land to housing is the next step in restoring past harms in the Lower Hill and repairing the neighborhood's connection to the city.
Developers are encouraged to read through the full RFP, which you can find at the link in our story.
New artist spaces are coming to Downtown Pittsburgh.
TGY Partners is leading a multi-phase effort to restore the building at 308 7th Avenue into a vibrant space centered on arts, culture and creative enterprise.
âWe build vibrancy in Downtown through partnerships, investment and new ideas,â said @cityofpittsburgh Mayor Corey OâConnor. âTaglyz II LLC [an affiliate of TGY Partners] is transforming an historic building into a space for art, design, culture and opportunities.â
The @invest_pgh loan will fund building improvements, including new and upgraded HVAC and renovations for new first-floor tenants. These improvements will help position the building for increased occupancy and long-term sustainability.
The development team has transformed the basement into a recording and podcast studio, and the next phase will bring 21 artist studios and an art gallery to the first and second floors through a partnership with @radianthall
Does your storefront need new windows, doors, paint or signage?
Pittsburgh businesses can apply for a facade renovation grant that will fund up to 75% of renovation costs, with a maximum award of $20,000. This reimbursable grant program, run in partnership with the @cityofpittsburgh 's Main & Main Initiative, is designed to improve the physical appearance of commercial storefronts across our city.
Eligible businesses should gather a quote from a contractor for the work (or multiple quotes if you want to price-match). Prepare other necessary materials, like photos, a scope of work or permission from the landlord and apply.
The deadline to apply is May 29 at 5 p.m. Click the link in our bio to apply!
Today, the URA Board of Directors took another key step forward for Downtown Pittsburghâs future.
The Board voted to adopt the Downtown Transit Revitalization Investment District (TRID) Implementation Plan, a sustainable funding strategy that will advance the Golden Triangle Reinvestment Fund. As part of a broader revitalization effort, this fund will help catalyze redevelopment, support new housing, improve public infrastructure, and strengthen Downtownâs economic vitality for the long term.
