🌾At Eternity’s Gate🌾
July 1890. Vincent Van Gogh, a troubled but brilliant artist, passes away with his brother at his bedside. In the day that follows, Theo Van Gogh grapples with grief, guilt, and the unbearable loss of his brother and dearest friend. Through Theo’s perspective, we discover the man behind the paintings, and the people who helped him become one of the world’s most beloved artists.

“You once wrote, ‘Do go on doing a lot of walking and keep up your love of nature, for that is the right way to understand art better and better. Painters understand nature and love her and teach us to see.’”
Vincent and Theo loved to go on walks. They loved nature and all the inspiration that it could provide. What began as a childhood pastime grew into a life-long pursuit of personal growth for both men.
Set in July 1890, At Eternity’s Gate is a play about grief, walks, and letters.

“Colours… so many colours in one little plant!”
Vincent van Gogh used to paint plants and flowers not just for his love of nature, but because they were cheaper than paying for models to sit for portraits.
Do you know what else is cheaper than paying for models? A ticket to At Eternity’s Gate. So let’s put that payday check to good use as we head into the long weekend! Tickets can be found at hopestreettheatre.com or via the link in our bio

Vincent van Gogh is believed to have painted 50 different versions of wheat fields. The rural landscape of France inspired a great deal of his work.
Standing alone in one of these wheat fields is Theo, Vincent’s younger brother and biggest supporter. Lost and confused by the shock of his brother’s sudden death, Theo must come to grips with the unimaginable.
Dubbed as “Full of beautiful language and relational truths,” by Everything Theatre, At Eternity’s Gate is a play about grief, family, and sacrifice.
