A Look Inside the Performance Collection 🎼
Ever wondered about how ensembles get their music?
Tucked away on the lower level of the Music Library is a small, windowless room that quietly supports nearly every musical ensemble at U of T. Every year, thousands of pieces of sheet music pass through the Performance Collection before (and after) reaching the stage.
Check out the newest Notes from the Music Library blog post (link in bio) where Student Library Assistant Sara takes readers on a behind the scenes tour, revealing the care and collaboration that goes into preparing for and maintaining a living history of every performance.
If you’ve never wandered in, consider this your invitation. You might find a new piece, a familiar marking from years past, or just a moment of quiet among the music. And yes, don’t forget the gumball on your way out! 🍬
