How do you put a moment like this into words? Celebrating his retirement after 57 years dedicated to the art of teaching musicianship through performance, including 32 years at UNT, is difficult to fully capture. His impact has shaped generations of musicians and educators.
Sharing the stage with composers and special guests James Stephenson, Nathan Hudson, Ryan George, Christopher Tucker, Michael Daugherty, and Rob and Lauren Murray made the evening even more meaningful.
Thank you, Professor Corporon, for your lasting legacy.

Join us for the University of North Texas Wind Ensemble & Wind Orchestra’s final concert of the year this Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 7:30 PM in Winspear Hall at the Murchison Performing Arts Center. This exciting program features works by Bruce Broughton, Julie Giroux, Gustav Holst, Omar Thomas, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Elizabeth Raum, including a special bass trombone feature by Timothy Owner, under the direction of Amy Woody and Andrew Trachsel, with doctoral conducting associates Katharine Reed and Carlos Granthon.
As our Composer in Residence, Bruce Broughton will be in attendance on Thursday, with his works New Era Overture and Suspect Folktunes featured on the program. Come support these incredible musicians and close out the semester with us!
